Honestly its very comforting to me to see who is blackpilling around here and who is willing to see how things play out. The purge is still far from over. The season isnt even over lol.

Because at the end of the day, your culture is set by your best player(s). Given the comical hissy fits any time (A)da(m) F(o)x is brought up, that's Panarin.

The teams culture has been for 5 years "lets float around and tickle our balls and wait for Foxy and Bread to magic some bullshit" and as those two have gone, so have the Rangers. They must be broken of this. Keeping all your tone setters while running your least important but HF Approved(tm) whipping boys out of town does nothing except get a lot of likes on a messageboard.

The culture isn’t the problem, the roster construction is. The Rangers simply do not have as much talent as the other best teams in the league. The reason they had to wait for Panarin and Fox to pull off magical feats is because that’s the only way they create any offense, when those two are on the ice.

But I’m not even opposed to trading Panarin in principle, however it makes no sense in the context of the J.T. Miller trade. Trading Panarin so that you can “build” around J.T. Miller teaching players how to play a more simplistic dumbed down version of hockey is a fools errand, which is what it seems like the plan is going forward.

I can't believe losing Jacob Trouba and Barclay Goodrow and Ryan Lindgren and Jimmy Vesey didn't change any of the Rangers fundamental problems, somehow they look very much the same. I wonder if the solution here isn't to dump Carson Soucy and Matt Rempe.

Maybe firing Tanner Glass and Jed Ortmeyer from the organization will be the ticket. Who else is largely unimportant but easy to farm likes bitching about. Let's f***ing go.

I dont know about that. Him and JT split center duties on that line 50/50 and I still dont believe his play this season was affected by age or physical decline. I still believe (maybe foolishly) that this season was just a perfect SHITstorm.

Building around Lafreniere and Cuylle? Please. I have high hopes for Perreault and I like Cuylle but you can’t be serious. This is the exact issue @Machinehead, others, and myself have been talking about. We constantly have to settle for less. No, I’m sorry building around those 3 players with an aging J.T. Miller and Vincent Trocheck is not good enough.

If that’s the plan then just f***ing rebuild.

Frank mentioned Rick Tocchet as a possibility for the Rangers if he doesn't stay in Vancouver. The Canucks have an option year for next season. EF said Vancouver and Tocchet will make a decision soon. Either he signs a new deal or he moves on to another team.

Tocchet is a great guy. I was watching this interview live after a Vancouver game. Great interview.



The Flyers are very interested in Tocchet.

Fox is here, Igor is here. Theres a lot of youth on the roster already. Young players cant improve? No one is saying we're winning the Cup next year. You have to start somewhere. The organization has literally nothing at center. Rangers can draft their savior next year when they keep the pick and he'll be ready for the NHL by the tome JT's contract is up. No harm no foul.

The Miller trade was a Hail Mary on a locker room shift for this year, which was widely known to be the last crack for the current group. You can't say he didn't empty the clip for this group of losers. He did, it failed, and now that this year is over, you go forward.

You make a better roster via winning personnel moves. Trading a jellyhead and a 16 or 17 year old for a PPG center outperforming his current contract is a trade you do 100 times out of 100 whether you're New York, San Jose, or CSKA Moscow. Panarin has nothing to do with that.

Apparently not for this team because there is no leader or core of players to build around. We'd be in the playoffs if there was.

Myself, I firmly believe that unless the 2025 pick is top 5, they should keep the 2026 pick.
