Speculation: Roster Building thread: Part XIX (Thanks, Sam)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
I could actually see Z and Kreider to Minnesota for Rossi. They have a ton of cap space and need more top of the lineup guys. I would be surprised, but it would make sense.

Lafreniere has gone from 0.7ppg to 0.6ppg. Tro has gone from 0.9ppg to 0.7ppg. What's MOST disappointing is that we were hoping for progress, while Laf has regressed. Though nowhere near as badly as Kreids, Zib, Pan. The team as a whole has regressed, but Laf has had the least severe drop in points amongst last years top six forward group.
And yes, it's more than just points... for most of the team.
I think Lafs production is ok. Not great but ok. My disappointment has come from his game. Where is the guy that was using his body last season? The guy that was really putting the effort in. The guy you looked forward to watching his shifts. He was hard to handle. This season he seemed to regress back to what he was in previous seasons.

Brooks and Boyler trashed the Rangers. The mentality is awful. The Rangers look tired and they want to go home. Some players refuse to play a certain way. One man forecheck. No straight lines. Won't or refuse to dump the puck. The team is not very talented. Some high end talent. Many teams have high end talent and they are quicker, faster and younger. Not a great finesse team. They can't play east and west. The PP is terrible.
The woman has a nice face.
Reminds me of the Hollywood Starlets back in the days before my days.

“injured” Kreider vs. Kings had 19:24 TOI. That’s a huge number for a winger.

Oh, and zero hits. And zero shots. Zero player.
This would be fine on the 4th line. Laviolette did what I thought he'd do as the last resort effort to stay in the payoff race in terms of going with all of JTM, Z and Tro as Cs and introducing yutes into top-9, EXCEPT leaving Kreider in the top-9 too. At this point Kreider can't be anywhere higher than 4th line.

Never ended up watching the game. How was the fight?
There wasn't one. Rempe/Jeannot doe-si-doe'd for about 10-15 seconds, each threw a couple jabs that did no damage either way, and Rempe fell about 5 seconds after the jabs started. Jeannot picked Rempe up by his jersey to continue the fight and Rempe got in another jab or two while the refs were breaking them up.

I really respected that part. Many (not all) NHL fighters are like that.

huge no on Torts

the right disciplinarian, ok.

Not some idiot who thinks a 6 G system, with skaters getting huge wear and tear b'c excess shot blocking = no no no

There was a pitching coach. think he was under billy martin
may have also had time w/A's
this guy got 1-ish yrs great production, but mishandled several pitchers, ruined their careers
name might have been Howe

Torts = that guy

There is a connection between the Rangers and Woodcroft. Woodcroft was a video coach with the Red Wings from 2005-2008 and the Rangers AGM Ryan Martin was the Wings director of hockey administration at that time.
If Knoblach not cut [which would be a surprise], I would be open to Woodcroft

No thanks to Torts. Let him try to figure out Buffalo.

RB’s woodcraft idea is 1000000000 times better.
Totally this^

It's not about scaring players... it's about accountability.

I want a coach that holds players accountable for their shit effort.
This is not addressing the problem
Addressing the prob = listening to bern, NO FUGGIN NMCs to anyone, ever, period, full stop.
THEN, if players are a prob, hands are not tied, regardless of who the coach is

What about Miller for Rossi
I'd like to see what Rossi gets, but remember, most of the time, the good big man > the good little man

think Sykora +

Rempe for Rossi.
NO

Zegras is a CINO at this point a la Stamkos and Pavelski.

I'd rather put Zibanejad back down the middle.
don't get me started, we all see he can't really handle pivot duties
