JT Miller seems like a huge asshole, but the Rangers kinda need that. I never liked trading him in the first place. Tough needle to thread.

I just wish there wasnt so much tape of him gliding on the backcheck and making bad turnovers. I know that happens with top players but we need a tone setter.

Espn put an article of trades they would like to see happen.

They said Kreider for Marchand. While i would not normally want to take an aging player like marchand when unloading a vet. I think i could get behind this. Marchand would be the kick in the ass leader this team desperately needs. I instantly think he would help Laf fulfill more of his potential.

If this fantasy trade by ESPN has an inkling of truth. I can support it. And i never thought i would say ok ro Marchand on the Rangers.

You're about to get rolled for this take but there's merit to it. Id need more for a UFA. Send over Frederic and a 1st with Marchand, Rangers add Lindy and lets call it a deal.

I listed to Kyper and Bourne from yesterday and Eddie Olczyk was on there giving raving reviews of Will Borgen

His charts are bad though. Dont listen to people who have actually seen him play. :sarcasm:

Borgen is 28 and the Rangers have 2 NHL d-men under contract next year. If he plays even remotely well the team will look to extend him on a 3 year deal I bet.

I never wanted to trade him in the first place.

But i want no part of him now.

That would mean we are going for it.

This team needs to be slightly dismantled and have a bad year or two and hopefully get a good young center with a top 10 (5?) draft pick. And then a good young d with another top 10 draft pick.

Your not going to get fredric if noston is going for it.

I would see if i can negotiate an extension first for a year or two.

Maybe squeeze a 2nd or 3rd as well, but i dont even think Bos would part with a first.

Marchand’s value would be experience and leadership that this team has sorely missed since basically callahan.

I keep hearing we would like guys that show up in the playoffs. This guy makes Panarin look like playoff Gretzky.

He had one goal in 40 playoff games with us....and a total of 12 in 91 career playoff games. But yes, he is an asshole....so theres that.

I think the dismantling and retooling of the team are going to happen on the fly. We're kinda in the midst of it. This team isnt taking a step back expectations wise after extending 2 core guys forever. They have the cap add a JT Miller type. Trade Kreider for assets to flip for a better fit. K'Andre is a big chip for a piece like JT. Othmann is going to get an audition after Christmas and that will define if he's a trade asset or part of the solution. The season isnt over.

Headed to the game tonight. Rangers are due to squeak one out but also vastly inferior right now.

Really eager to see big boy Bichsel. Our guys better have their heads up, if the lineup gets any thinner we might as well pack it in all together this year.

Look at these defenses:

Heiskanen
Harley
Lindell
Bichsel
Lyubushkin
Lundqvist

Fox
Schneider
Lindgren
Borgen
Jones
Vaakanainen

Hintz, Robertson, Stankoven, Duchene, Johnston, Benn, Marchant, Bourque, Dadanov

Is Dallas top nine.

We need a miracle to not get blown out. Which means we’ll likely win somehow.

Fwiw my brother in law is a die hard B's fan and he'd move Marchand for Kreider. 2 guys who have run their course with the teams they're on.

Get me a guy who keeps it 100% real.

I still like Yanni. Shouldve traded Kakko for him in 22 when he had 3 playoff runs left on his contract.

While i agree about retool on the fly, alot will be determined during this roster freeze. We lose all the games (and look indifferent on ice), and Drury’s mindset might be alot different.

This is a huge stretch for us in determining the direction.

TBT to when Valliquete got a 10 spot dropped on his head in Dallas. Our current GM had assists on the Rangers only 2 goals lol.

Yes and no. I mean if this team loses a few more games it will just speed uo Drury's willingness to pull the trigger on trades nvolving his next 2 big issues (Lindgren and Kreider). If they start playing with any kind of effort and structure, Igor will get hot and will them to the playoffs. I feel really confident in that.

And once they are in, who knows? They have a ton of playoff experience and a great goalie, team's have made more surprising runs. The east is also not very good. We were 15-15-1 on this day in the 13-14 Cup run season.

You can't slightly dismantle something
