Im still gonna watch the games.

Quite frankly, Im greatly enjoying this soap opera of a season. It was necessary to change the culture and show us who the snakes are. And there are plenty. I've had no issue with Drury's methods because he's the only guy who has remained on a consistent message. Improving the roster. These are all moves that would have been made this summer if Trouba didnt block that trade and poison the well. Drury is also a snake, but you have to be one nowadays to run a franchise, especially one worth billions like the Rangers. At least we have a real motherf***er in charge instead of Gorton who sat on his hands so long they smelled like shit.

Im more than willing to fire the Little league Champions in the summer, but he's never been allowed to put his stamp on the team. Im fine with allowing him to do that, especially in what everyone is already calling a lost season. lets see how it plays out before everyone gets their Kaapo Kakko pajamas in a twist over it.
I've expected a kakko trade, that's not the issue. The issue is the timing and the return. 90% of the team has given up, Kakko wasn't one of them and yet he's the one who was scratched and to get traded, the message is awful. The return is underwhelming to the point you wonder why even move him. If they wanted to make a statement then trade someone who was coasting, not the guy who was trying

Maybe doing Kakko a favor and getting him out of a bad situation? Doesnt fit the narrative people have going but it makes sense.

The guy wanted out. I thought they would include Kakko in a multiplayer deal or they would get acquire a similar type of player or a late 2nd round pick. The Rangers probably could have gotten more two or three years ago but the return would not have been close to where he was selected. The Rangers would have been criticized for making the trade. You can't win.

The Rangers can flip Borgen at the deadline. Maybe they like him and give him a contract. He is a big D. Those guys are hard to find.

Kakko wasn't going to work here. You can talk about opportunities. He wasn't always given a fair shake. However, Kakko could have forced the Rangers to give him a bigger opportunity. Play better. Cuylle wasn't supposed to make the Rangers last season. He forced them to keep him. He has gotten better and better. He can score 25-30 goals this season. He took whatever ice he was given.

Time to move on.

BTW. Watching Jay Onraits show on TSN, and just heard that in regards to the Kakko trade, Drury made it clear to anyone that wanted him, the Rangers wanted a Dman in return.
I'm glad he wanted a defensemen. But going back to 2021'ish, what exactly are we doing here. I may have missed some through-out the years, but majority of these don't address any real flaws.

Edit: I clearly missed Jones signing his ELC, but I probably shouldn't even include those.

wrong
Rs have won more games w/him in the lineup than not

Because it is an abysmally horrible trade and I was on record and said don't deal KK especially for cheap, so
a) we take a loss by selling cheap
b) we have opportunity cost if/when KK further upside happens, which I believe it will w/ideal partners

This is like every mistake b'c they didn't listen to me
AGAIN R MGMT KISS MY FUGGIN ASS

insightful
my prob is when instead of moving out the deadwood and taking a hit for doing so, they give away productive youth which is gonna extend the problem and pursuit of a solution even further
You love to make these proclamations that you are right based off these insane little scenarios you invent. Bottom line you were wrong about KK's value (as were many, myself included).

The Ranger will never "listen to you" because you are merely a poster on a website that organizations don't read or value the opinions of. Your self-agrandizing nature is annoying.

Agree that it’s not a bad team. Disagree that GM is the issue. f***ing suck it up and play your hearts out - but this ingredient went missing. I bet a lot of players thought they will be able to just walk into playoffs and through a round or two until they’d need to show up.
I think it's more about not wanting to help an asshole keep his job myself

Things still don't seem to be going well with JT Miller in Vancouver.

Elias Pettersson and JT Miller haven't played on the same PP unit since Miller's return. Last night, Miller played only 12 minutes at 5v5 (5 minutes less than EP) and reacted poorly. He stayed out too long on the PP which led to a goal against. He also forced a pass in OT and Meeka'd the back check prior to Utah HC's winning goal.

Pettersson was playing well during Miller's absence, but now has 0 points in 4 games since Miller came back.

Drury was reportedly interested in Miller in the past. Maybe a Mika for Miller trade might actually make sense. Vancouver could use a righty center too.

Do you think Mika is waiving his no trade clause so Drury can keep his job? I don't.

No, politics is involved and they let him go cheap b'c he asked out from this nonsense and they wanted to send a message

factually, given his 5x5 history and upside, he was/is worth more

Disingenuous to extent = wrong
yes, it is in construct of a team stat, BUT the catalyst of what drove the results was still the common denominator of this single player, Rempe
There were other factors but by definition, these differed every night, Rempe was the only common factor.

I’m sure his 3 minutes of ice time made all the difference in the games.

bernmeister = wrong

Rempe might become an NHL player. We’ll see.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING!! Thank you for making this as clear as possible.

Half the time, I think his stuff is all schtick.....but it really appears that narcissism is alive and well and thriving in him.

Its funny that our fans think we are a circus then you look around the league and Andy Brunette is saying he should scratch every player on Nashville's roster, and Vancouver's 2 best players can't even be on the ice at the same time.

K'Andre or JT trade? Miller's Crossing.

Despite the large amount of hate CK has gotten this season (much deserved) I predict he gets 2-3 times the trade return that KK got. Then we will see how NHL GMs/coaches value our players. Zibs return will be higher as well imo.
I don't think it's a question of how GMs/coaches value our players -- it's a question of just how badly they can fleece us knowing we want these players gone -- if Seattle's offer for KK was better than the other offers, imagine how bad the other offers were. After all that's happened, Rangers will not get fair market value for any player try to move.

I don't think it's impossible that Z for JT could happen. NMCs don't stop anything. I dont really care for either player at this time so f*** it. Haha
Send Mika and CK out there together - much better chance they waive if they are together. Vancouver would obviously have some good offers for JT, but it looks like that situation is becoming/already is untenable.

Mika + CK + Lindy for JT + Garland + Hoglander

Panarin + 3rd for Dumba + Bischel + 1st + 2nd

----------------
Draft: NYR 1st (Top 10? (top 5??)) + DAL 1st + DAL 2nd

Rantanen (13.5) Miller Lafreniere
Cuylle (6) Trocheck Perreault
Othmann/Berard/Hoglander/Garland/Edstrom/Rempe/Sykora

Bischel Fox
Miller (5) Schneider
Dumba/Vak/Borgen/Jones/Mancini + Fortescue/Emery on the way

Igor
Quick

Did I cook or did I *Bern* it (respectfully) ?

Haha. It's bern for sure. But with significantly less 6th round picks. And less goalies. Haha

Love Garland though. And Bichsel seems really good.
