There is zero proof that anyone on the team is not trying or there’s a revolt. This is something fans make up to make themselves feel better as they try to fall asleep laying in their ranger sheets under their giant messier fathead wall decal.
There is zero proof this team is giving max effort. Everyolayer giving max effort is something people who fall asleep under Kreider fathead decals think to make themselves feel better.

Yeah it’s clearly just a coping mechanism for the more deranged fans to rationalize why the team’s been losing.

if they really truly have no issue with the coaching staff then they just suck.

they had clearly gotten over the Goodrow thing, the start of the season was good. unless something else happened with Drury/the locker room around the Florida or Washington game, they just aren't good. they were playing badly two weeks before the Drury leak about Trouba and Kreider, so it wasn't that either.

He is having a bad year. Having a bad year and not trying are two completely different things

I dont think Trochek has an attitude problem. Which is why i would treat him differently. In fact, i think he is probably the best leader this team has from an observational standpoint.

Obviously, i have no clue what goes on behind closed doors. But if he was leading the revolt, i would be highly surprised:
Or maybe he overachieved last season and this is who he is.

If you watch the games, his line over the past number of games are the ones being scored on the most. He is checked out like the rest of them.

You going to tell me with a straight face this team is giving their all every night?
I’m going to say with a straight face that everyone in that rooms wants desperately to win and shove it up Drurys ass. Guys could be hurt, guys could just be going through mental shit and are fighting it. I can believe all that. What I dont believe is they walk into the room on game days and say, I’m gonna half ass it. But what I do give some validity to is that Trouba checked out and stopped captaining a bit when the season started. Other than that, I believe they want to win and they want to win here.

It’s not a loophole. Waivers are openly understood and used by every single NHL team. If he had the negotiating power, he could have negotiated a full NMC which would not allow him to be waived. He didn’t have that. He probably could have taken less money and gotten an NMC. He negotiated for the contract he agreed to. It is 100% totally fine and not sketchy at all.
Nah, it was a loophole. Or at the very least a shady way to do business. They sent him a place he negotiated to not go. Drury and Grier actively got around the NTC with the move. And they didn’t even give him a heads up. At least when Tampa tried to did it to McDonagh, they let him know

Which again, I don’t care because it benefitted my team. But I’m also not gonna sit here with my head in the sand and be like “yup this isn’t shady at all”

They do just suck. The underlying numbers that everyone will poo-poo away has them as the same team they were last year. Such are the whims of the bouncing piece of rubber.

As @will1066 pointed out, Trocheck's comments and Laviolette's comments prove that the effort hasnt been there and the peoole who point it out arent imagining it.. Usually teams that believe they can and want to win dont get run off the road by the Sabres, Kraken and Blackhawks.

Last year was a career year for him so yes he have overachieved. He is a second line player who is playing on top line.

Laf on that line has been so horrendously bad defensively its not funny. And i love Laf.

Trocheck and panarin also havent been great defensively. But lad is easily the weakest link on the defensive side.

Im not sure what u expect of him. Last year was much better than my sepectaions, this year is slighly below. I expect a 55-65pt player from him on most years.

yeah and if Drury is so upset about it he should look to himself instead of the players. he had a chance to fix this teams issues this summer and let them have another couple of runs at the Cup but he didn't do it. it's mostly his fault.

I got a problem with the way the players are thinking this out. Of course, providing that the report from that Podcost is accurate. Its very unprofessional for a Hockey Club to stop playing if their feelings are hurt that a GM made moves. Moves that in all likely hood needed to be made to pay the crew for the next season and give the existing core another shot. Its irrelevant how the deals actually went down. Its a business and these players are all making adequate money for their profession.

The real issue i see is how shortsighted and spiteful it is to just not give a rats ass and tank on a season because of their feelings toward the GM. These players are thinking about themselves, and not about the fans that support this team. Forbes still ranks them as the #2 most profitable Organization in the NHL. The fanbase doesn't quit on the Rangers so why are the Rangers players quitting on the ice? Sets a terrible tone for the average Joe that takes his family into Manhattan to see a game.

Just took a look at tickets for the game vs the Canes on the 22nd. Lets say a Father, or a Mom wants to take two kids into the game. 3 tickets total. Cheapest i saw was $273 for Obstructed view seating in Sec 215. So thats $819 for 3 seats. Lets say the parent want to enjoy a beer. Thats $15. Lets say each kid wants a Soda. that's $7 each. Lets say they all have a hot dog. thats another $8 each. Plus transportation. Lets say they all take the train. $25 Each person round trip.

That's a blatant slap in the face to every single paying customer that walks into Madison Square Garden.

$819 Tickets
$15 1 Beer
$24 - $8 x 3 Food
$14- $7 x2 Sodas
$75- $25 x3 Train Tickets
____________________________
$947 TOTAL

Paying money to watch this current team play is just not worth it. You're better off taking the 1k and tossing it into the fire in your fireplace on Xmas Eve.

Yeah, especially with Lindgren who he apparently wouldn't commit to long-term, but at the same time didn't lift a finger to get out of the exact same spot in the lineup he's always been.

He wants to act like Truman dropping the nuke after having a summer where he did very little.

Why? You needed 20 more games to realize Reilly Smith wasn't the piece?

Laf being defensively bad doesn’t bother me.
He’s a dynamic offensive player who can still grow. You kinda accept the defensive warts there as he’s still real young.

If I was Drury, I'd be taking a page out of Leon Rose' book and trying to package K'Andre Barrett and Kaapo Quickly for a 2-way stud that can be a long term answer that the team desperately needs. Either at forward or defense.

Then I'd be very open for business on both Kreider and Trocheck as a means to get off their contracts and play the youth more. Include Lindgren and/or Smith retianed as throw-ins to contenders to sweeten the pot.

I took Trochecks comments to be more of, “playing the right way” mumbo jumbo. And they are entirely guilty of that right now. But good teams lose to bad teams all the damn time. The team is frozen out there. They don’t even know where to be on the ice. Laff sucks right now, I’ve seen a lot of people say, he got paid and he don’t care anymore. I look at it like, he got paid and now he’s pressing to prove his worth. It just doesn’t make sense to me for a guy like Kreider or ZiB to want to lose just to get back a Drury or whoever when there’s a very real possibility this will be their last season here. Who are they really spiting?

Why would we make a move that doesn’t start with Kreider or Lindgren?

miller and Kakko can still grow and get better.

He flys the zone to early and leaves his team hanging. That is what bothers me about him. It happens to often this year.

He doesnt have to be a selke candidate, but he cant keep leaving the zone and team to pick up the pieces.

i dont think they are trying to lose. I think they dont give a shit and wont go out of their way to try to win.

i will do my job, but not really give full effort and definitely not go above and beyond type attitude.
