I’m almost certain Igor has a 10 team NTC right now. Not that I think he is going to be made available.
The only way Shesterkin COULD be moved is if he sees the team going to a rebuild/dramatic retool all of his buddies get traded and doesn't want to be apart of it. Not saying it's going to happen, just laying out a slim possibility.

Even when his NMC kicks in, the Rangers can move him, but they would need his approval. It would likely take unforeseen circumstances for him to want out.

If you knew what was going on in Philadelphia that trade wouldn’t have surprised you.
Oh I'm not entirely surprised. From what I heard rumors on there was a major party culture in that locker room, and he was a massive culprit. Which is why the LA trade made sense.

Lavi was the coach then too right?

Here’s some chum for the waters

Who is this guy? It’s one of the HF theories but it would be interesting if there’s some substantiation behind it, however mild. My issue with it though is even if Drury absolutely sucks, quitting on the fans and the team still doesn’t exactly endear any of them to me. Players mutinying against a GM is pretty entitled behavior, in like 99% of instances, no? It would have to be a pretty extreme level of toxic from Drury to really justify this play, right?

Who the hell is "Steve"?
Steve Dangle. He ran a leafs podcast/youtube show, it now is a leaf centric NHL podcast / youtube show.
They're fairly knowledgeable, have some half decent league connections (leafs mostly) and they've got solid hockey takes. Modern Hockey but not entirely metric focused, they know a good hockey play,

The team meeting was one that he was using sources. The kakko trade part was him speculating.
They broke it down fairly well, if the team is pissed at drury, they've got no help. The answer is play better. They were more player centric and defending the players if they're pissed, but they all pointed out the answer is play better.

If that story is true, which I have no reason to think it is, then it's really good news. Maybe we'll get some NMCs waived afterall. Miller and Mika to Vancouver for Pettersson who says no? 👀
The other part in that conversation was "the rangers players want to stay there. They just want drury gone"

Bolded is it.

That has always been the answer for the "core." Want the noise to die down and go away? Play better. You're not going to get the results you want by half assing everything and being grossly outplayed by guys with less than 100 games of NHL experience.

Some guys are just f***ing toast and shouldn't have been back to begin with (Lindgren.) Others? They're better than this and if this is their way of trying to get a message up to the owner, then I hope that they're the ones who end up moving.

As ID posted, Carter asked to be traded....wasn't he traded to LA shortly after that?
Carter didnt ask to be moved from philly (where he signed the deal) and he was traded fairly quickly (within the same season I believe) from CBJ to LA.

What does "change his ways" mean?
No more deadline rentals? No more NMC with every contract extension? No more drafting wingers?

And none of the players are playing like they want to be here.

I'm even more jaded than usual right now but if any of that is true, and it actually got to Dolan, I honestly hope he'd pick Drury over the current playing group and tell them to start packing up their gear ready for a trade.

If Drury didn't properly set expectations with the team, I'd be pissed as a player. That being said, I have a hard time being sympathetic to players who make lots of $$$ in a line of work that isn't exactly known for job security.

This is turning into a friggin soap opera and I don't recall seeing anything quite like it before. The silver lining is maybe this speeds up the inevitable changes that need to be made.

I remember that now. Signed a huge deal and was dealt 7 months later. Don't recall if he had any trade protection.

All that said there is no way they are trading Igor.

I agree Igor isn't being traded, but another recent example is Tampa moving Sergachev to Utah before his NTC kicked in. There's even a recent-ish Rangers example, when you guys moved Derek Stepan to Arizona just days before his NTC kicked in.

Garand will gladly be backup in NY nothing to see here

For the next 8 years?
