He's the one who thought Z was the #1, he could've flipped him, and if he really believe in Z maybe not handcuff himself to a full NMC throughout the contract or make the contract pretty much buyout proof. He was the one who constantly has to fix his own mistakes. He over paid for Reeves, then traded him for pennies. He was forced to give up 2nd round picks to get rid of Nemeth, which could've been used to bolster the lineup other places. Constantly gave up picks to fill the hole he created by getting nothing for Buch. He made the room sad but getting out of the Goodrow contract he handed out. Also, he paid Arizona a lot more than other teams have in the past to retain salary on the Kane deal. Not to say everything Drury has done has been bad, after the Buch deal he made some nice savvy cheap trades that worked out well, but if he didn't have to correct his mistakes the team would've been in a better position to either have prospect reinforcements coming, or use those picks to upgrade the roster.
