they're going to fire the coach and then play way better. bookmark this post.

I'm convinced fans that want Torts don't remember 2013. It wasn't that much worse than this version until they made a couple of smart moves at the deadline. That team hovered around .500 for the longest time and didn't play all that hard.

Torts was/is a jackass and a moron. and a terrible coach. he was throwing his own players under the bus in the post game press conferences during that season. he's just a profoundly dumb guy that yells a lot.

The problem isn’t them playing better. At this point, it’s nearly impossible not to play better.

Are they good enough to win? That’s a resounding, no. We all knew it going into the season.

Drury failed miserably in the offseason.

Lavi failed miserably with system changes

The players are failing miserably at a level I haven’t seen before.

No for a # of reasons, but the biggest is to break Zib
ck plays, zib sits every fuggin game his back is up for it

break Mika break
Lindy should not wait, deall immediately

then we see...

Bern, you're saying no for one reason and one reason only. Kreider is your favorite player. I get it. The team has traded every one of my favorite players. But you have to look at it objectively. He's a big presence in a room that isn't working. His production is way down. His speed is slowing down. His replacement is already on the team. He's still worth some value in trade. His cap space can be better spent elsewhere. And, to your point, moving him is the BEST way to break Mika out of his funk.

In a perfect world, we'd be able to let Kreider be a career Ranger. Teams don't get embarrassed night after night in a perfect world. It's time to move Kreider.

What is both strange and fascinating is how clueless management and coaches are how to fix their mistakes. Trust and respect has obviously broken down across the lines. Doing nothing fixes nothing. Your move Mr. President GM.

I started following this team with an interest when the rebuild started. I've always rooted for the kids. I've always said that pandering to the country club click is ruining the team. I've always said that integrating the kids is crucial.

Now here we are looking at the shipwreck of a rebuild. Good job Drury.

I hate to move on from kreider but it’s time. I think they should look to a team like LA. They have a bunch of prospects who would be closer to nhl ready compared to a late 1st. Maybe some assortment like of greentree, Hughes, kaliyev, or some other playoff team that has closer to ready prospects. Tho lak is not a good example but a team deep in d prospects would be ideal. I’d also call up syky, maybe he’s not ready but he seems like an infectious guy that can amp up the players around him like berard does.

What?

Schaefer is f***ing fire.
Is it even unanimous? Definitely seems to be one of the lesser hyped drafts in recent memory. Ironically Laf was one of the most hyped, and Kakko vs Hughes were too. On the bright side as those show us, it’s never a sure thing. Celebrini is outperforming Bedard who had way more hype. You never know

No it’s not but it’ll be more lopsided by the time the final rankings come out. Hagens is very good and we should all be very happy if by some miracle the Rangers were able to get him but Schaefer is phenomenal.

Also lol at you now pumping Celebrini.

Amazing how it's everyone else's fault but Kreider eh? 😅

I’m honestly content with selling off and retooling.

Let the kids get time. Hopefully get a good pick. Hopefully get some nice returns for whatever vets were can unload…, even if it’s just Kreider and Lindgren.

Get some cheap replacement level defenders to finish the year. Move Mika to RW. Make him uncomfortable hopefully he waives.

Figures the year we suck ass the projected top pick is mid.

But who any kidding Drury will probably trade our first for Granlund or something anyway
We will make that top pick look mid for 5 years. Make them "play the right way" by giving them 4th line minutes or healthy scratching instead of letting them develop in Jr. or college.

I don’t think this will ever happen because the dude sells tickets, but if Panarin is of interest to any contenders, I pull the trigger and take the assets. I think the freewheeling style and lack of defense we see from a lot of the forwards starts with Panarin, who is really the only player we have that is talented enough to play the way he does. Trading him both resets the culture and theoretically brings back a haul, especially if retained.

The Caps seems like they have a legit chance this year. Do you think they listen on a package involving Panarin for Leonard?

I'd move Mika to RW to at least get his head out of his ass. He looks lost in this defensive scheme. Maybe he can find his offensive game again from the wing.

Second piece of change that NEEDS to happen is breaking up PP1. If we are truly transitioning then staying with a stale 4 yr old unit that is no longer dominant makes zero sense. Move Laf up and see what he's got on that unit.

I don’t think Lavi is a good coach, but I don’t think he’s anywhere near the heart of THE problem at this point. Why he loses teams is irrelevant, IMO. All coaches lose their teams. Most teams have a new coach every 3-5 years. The question isn’t why Lavi loses teams. The question is why THIS team has quit on 3 straight coaches in 5 years. I don’t care who the coach is at that point; it could be Dancing Larry and he could be drunk every game/practice and exclusively talk to the players in pig Latin and I would still be completely incapable of siding with the players on this one. They’re an entitled group of babies who quit on every coach they have.

And the thing is, WE are sitting here saying Lavi needs to go because he doesn’t change up the top PP or break up Kreider and Zib or stop giving Lindgren big minutes… well, what are the players quitting for than? He’s basically doing what THEY want him to do. We want Zib sitting a game. We want Kreider benched. We want vets losing their spots to kids on the PP. We want Lindgren on the bottom pair. If Lavi did all of those things, could you imagine the amount of tears there would be in that locker room? Mika would flood the Garden. So what are they even quitting on? They’re not even being shown tough love.

They’re quitting because they’re gutless pansies who wilt when facing adversity and have been enjoying the scent of their own flatulence for far too long while being absolutely pampered in every way by this organization, it’s media and the multiple coaches they’ve had the privilege of quitting on. I don’t care if you were Al Arbour, Stan Bowman, Joel Quennville, Spencer Carberry… it does not matter. These boys are only going to work hard for you for about 16 months and if they don’t win the Cup that year, you might as well just resign and let them move on to the next coach.

It’s time to break up the band. They haven’t released an album in years and they keep touring, playing songs that used to be hits but they have no energy anymore and the singer’s voice is shot.
This guy gets it
