Lindgren at 50% retained likely gets a 2nd
= wildly optimistic, not happenin at this pt

Smith at 50% retained likely gets a 2nd
= plausible enuf to be ballpark reasonable

Kakko probably fetches a 2nd + mid tier prospect
= NO, do not sell short just for the sake of selling

our prob is THE VETS:
Zib, Lindy, for starters

lose them first and see what shakes
Justin braun fetched a 3rd to be a 7th dman. Every deadline you see even 7th dmen get 3rds. Lindgren is a vet whos played top pairing minutes, pk and has played 43 playoff games. If you think at 50% retained that doesnt get a 2nd then youre nuts.

What would you recommend we do with kakko and where does he fit in here? Is he gonna take laff or gabe perreaults spot in the top 6? So you wanna pay $4-5mm aav for a defensive minded RW in our bottom 6? No thanks

Bringing back both Trouba and Lindgren (and in retrospect even just one) was a mistake.

Quadrupling down on Kreider - Zibanejad - ____ was another.

Expecting Chytil to make it through the season without a non-concussion concussion was too.

Drury is not without fault here.

Interesting today they mentioned the Kings go with 7 D and 11 forwards ....and seems like the players like it . I thought about that before with us having young guys up front...more ice to go around for them . Give Chytil-Kakko-Laf-Berard-Edstrom more minutes.....and Cuylle.

We don't/barely have six NHL quality dmen. How are we going to be playing seven

Wherever the keg is!
Anyone seen that video of Pakistani school children and what they will do to improve Pakistan?

It's starts off benign at first: be part of a strong army, something about a strong education system, shouting being proud to be Pakistani, giving homes to the poor.

Not to bring geo-politics into this, but to say things went off the rails would be an understatement: some of this kids said that they will bomb the shit out of India, one went as far as to say he will sacrifice himself for all of Pakistan.

...THAT'S WHAT WE NEED!

Whoever gives the same mundane answers of "to play our hearts out," "the end game is the cup," you trade their asses right away! No hesitation!

The ones that say "any motherf***er who looks at me the wrong way, I'll flip over their team bus," or "sometimes you need to use your elbow or land head-butts" that, THAT is what we need.

Avoid players that have something positive happen in their lives. They had a kid, got married, signed a new contract.

Avoid them!

Any death in the family, financial misfortune, the liquor cabinet is running on empty, you either make them your captain or alternate!

Vultures the size of Drones over NJ are circling this carcass of this dead lamb.

Cuylle for a 4th.
Kaapo to Anaheim for Paul Kariya.
Chytil to Van for the rights to Vitali Kravtsov.
Mancini to Jersey for Brian Rafalski.

I've seen teams quit on a coach, but in 50 years of watching hockey, I've never seen a team completely quit on the entire Organization, the jersey, it's fanbase, and each other.

This folks, this team that you are watching right now, currently has the weakest most cowardly core in its history.

I'm gonna go play pickleball with my bassethound.

Shes slower than any Fox in the Appalachians, but not at MSG.

It’s like they’re trying to get someone fired. If it’s Drury, he knows changing the coach won’t help anything. That’s probably why he’s trying to trade his was out of this problem.

Maybe Dolan can advertise the Christmas roster fire sale at the LV Sphere. Mika could DJ some very soft holiday melodies. The team could gift exchange plush toys and Swiss cheese platters to commemorate their defense and play thus far.

I wonder sometimes if we have the mutiny all wrong and that Kreider and Panarin are the ringleaders and not Mika .....when has Mika ever been a team leader ? Maybe that is why this has been so hard on him mentally . I am just guessing like the rest of us in here and trying to understand the whole mess .

It's kind of a moot point now. We're not winning, he doesn't really have trade value, and we don't need the cap space. So he's here for now and the Kreiders and Panarins of the world who are worth something are the ones who need to go.

braun did not have a fraction of the wear and tear Lindy does, which shows
nice resume, but he dat wuz den an dis is now
if any club will take him let him go

as to KK, the hate is beyond ridiculous
with their 5x5 play Cuylle - Chytil - KK
has been closest thing to a bright spot during this team funk

so no, not selling him cheap
peeps gotta understand giving away anything actually productive at a discount is counterproductive

We do have two guys out....and most likely will soon enough be getting another one....adding another is not rocket science....or math LOL....it likely won't be Bobby Orr but the Kings did not have him either . We have to start somewhere....I think the D would be a good spot .

we're only stuck with Mika if he refuses to waive his no-trade. he's not gonna stay here for 4 more seasons getting booed off the ice every game. there will be a team stupid enough to trade for him with retention. we just got rid of Jacob Trouba's full cap hit AND got a real NHL player back for him, anything is possible.

to me it actually looks like they're all trying. they just aren't very good. they're too slow and thus out of position too often. they have two defensemen that can actually play NHL hockey, the others simply cannot play the man-on-man system the coaches are asking for effectively. some players that could turn the game on a dime with a skillful play to score a goal have regressed majorly. then the game gets to 2-0, 3-0 and what little offense they were generating dries up because the other team is laying back.
