I would hope the Rangers say no.

If we're trading Kreider, it has to be for players and prospects who will help us going forward. A 36-year-old pending UFA doesn't do that.

Miller for McTavish? Anaheim will be dumping Fowler at some point in the near future. Dumoulin is 33 and a pending UFA. Mintyukov and Zellweger are both lefties, but they are both 21. Maybe they'd be interested in Miller, who's a bit older and has more experience.

I wouldnt trade Kreider for Marchand, but there are guys on Boston I like, and Kreider fits less and less on this team every day. He's blocking Cuylle in the top 6 and Lafreniere on PP1.

I enjoy that article calling K'Andre "a foundational player" for the Rangers. These media types just yap all day and dont actually pay attention to anything.

Do they practice passing in Hartford?
Hartford's centers outside of Groulx are either totally unproven (Roob/BMB) or terrible (Lesch, Rempe tbh) and their defense are awful passers. This doesn't answer your question but they probably don't lol

fully/partially no on da bold

But it didn't!
'Tis just your false narrative

Mostly yes, rare exception or 2 nothwithstanding.
Zib 1 want gone yesterday.
Don't care if we eat max 50% and get back conditional 7th
Need to make him bend, buckle and break in capitulation response to the shit he has pulled and the aggravation it has put us through
Effective immediately, he sits til he waives

Like bern says, 99+% of time rentals are losers

There is no reason to give away talent when other teams will pay for it. People let their personal feelings get the best of them and then complain later. Trouba was traded when people said that could never happen. Goody was traded after people said that could never happen. A 25 goal 75 point Zib can definitely be traded imo. No need to cut our nose to spite our face.

Glad to hear that defensemen not knowing what the puck is is an organizational mandate lol

Rangers need to make a Gaborik/Brassard type deal wit Kreider or Miller. Someone with enough value to add multiple pieces that help.

I like the Gaborik/Kreider comparison. They dealt Gabby in-season for three pieces in their mid-20s, who all helped the Rangers get to the Stanley Cup the very next season. Deal Kreider for controllable NHL depth, and increase the roles of Lafreniere and Cuylle. It seems really obvious to me.

Miller is going down the DelZotto path. Id trade him for a 'Kevin Klein' - type D-man straight up. Because it's a massive organizational need to have a sturdy veteran who can move the puck and skate a bit. Nothing flashy. The added bonus is, they dont have to worry about the contract Miller will get this summer. Has holdout or albatross written all over it.

Was Brooks seriously suggesting Stamkos? Is there a worse fit in the entire league?
I mean if it’s for Zibanejad, it’s less money and less term, so yeah I’m doing that.
Emily Kaplan is lost. Guetznel was a rental. He didn't change Carolina's fortunes. All of this BS about the rental players. One player isn't making much of a difference. Carolina lost in the playoffs. Again.

Stick to what you know Emily.
I’m not a Kaplan fan, but Guentzel significantly raised the ceiling on the Hurricanes last season; and he was the last reason they got eliminated. He made a huge difference - they just got lousy goaltending and couldn’t overcome the Pesce injury. Guentzel was not a bad rental and he would have stayed in Carolina, but he agent took the contract he wanted and got a no state income tax team to match it.

The Rangers absolutely would have had a much better chance against the Panthers with Guentzel. Not saying they win that series, but it’s a whole lot closer

The analytics against Florida wouldnt have been better but Guentzel's calling card is finishing and clutch goals. Even despite getting out played, if we got 1 or 2 more timely goals in that series, we might've won it. Guentzel absolutely wouldve helped a lot and he'd probably still be a ranger if we traded for him at the deadline. he was definitely the Canes best player against us.

I have always been a big CK fan but watching him is disappointing. I see he still has the physical skills but the effort has declined imo. He is a better player than he is showing. I know people think of hockey as a game but its a long physical job. Just playing twice a week got to be too much of a grind for me. I wonder if that is the case for CK mentally.

I'm open to moving CK, Zibs and Fox soon. Yes I know people will freak out that I would make Fox available but I have seen things for years that concern me. I like all 3 players as people but it is time.

Watching our defense last night was alarming. I usually like Schneider but he was making mistakes. Kam was reaching instead of skating. Fox was a mixed bag. Jones looked okay for a 3rd pair. Lindy was hustling but physically overmatched at times.

Fowler sucks

The Rangers had the opportunity to take him back for Trouba and they said no. Fowler wanted to come here too. Should say it all.

Its time to give the team to the kids, for some reason that's hard af to do. Lafreniere on pp1, Cuylle and Kakko on the pk, end of game holding a lead "3rd" line starts, even out the mins for 2nd and 3rd line. It's painfully obvious the older guys can't, aren't able to physically or won't compete against other teams best players. It will only benefit Kreider and Zib if they aren't against top lines every night. This is the natural progression, Dallas was stumbling along until they did this very thing.

It’s one of 3 scenarios:

He’s dogging it because he doesn’t want anyone to trade for him

He’s injured

he’s washed

None of these are particularly great.

He’s been one of our worst players all season, I dare say worse than Mika even

If they trade Kreider, they do so because Cuylle, Perreault, Othmann, Kakko (if he stays long-term), and Berard make him expendable.

They aren't trading Kreider for another LW.

Kreider to Boston for Frederic + Brazeau/Kastelic/Beecher + Lohrei/Peeke/Wotherspoon

Extend Frederic, because we need a middle 6 C with size and physicality desperately, and he fits the timelne with out young core. Brazeau is a hidden gem on Boston, a boulder that is very hard to defend in front (14 points on the year already). Id take any of those D men, because we need warm bodies.

This was the framework of the Gaborik for Brass/Dorsett/Moore trade, so while it looks underwhelming, i think it would make us a much more well rounded and better team.

Panarin-Trocheck-Laf
Cuylle-Mika-Berard
Frederic-Chytil-Kakko
Edstrom-Carrick-Brazeau

Laf get's Kreider's spot on PP1. Cuylle gets his spot on PK1.

Feel like being random. I've watched more games in a week than the entire city of Knoxville has in a year.

I think its more mental than physical. Still has the speed and strength but is not showing the motor. When he puts his game in gear he still has the skills. Saw this at times in the last 2 years but its worse this year. Playing this game is a grind. That is often what separates guys like Crosby from others. Its hunger.
