Yeah, I was 50/50 on if an extra 1st would get it done, or a 2nd. Didn't have the historical facts in front of me, so I had to guess lol.

So would probably be 9OA + either our 2nd or NJD 2nd.

That's based on precedent, but there are some other, small, factors as well.

How deep is the draft? How big is the drop if the team trades down (Detroit in this case)? What are the players available?

But looking at history, trading up from 9 to 6 should cost our own 2nd rounder.

Agreed. I wouldn't move two first to jump three spots. Even if the second first is late. Unless someone unexpected is available at 6, I don't see enough difference between 6 and 9 to justify that deal.

Plenty of really good players go with a late first. It's still a very valuable pick IMO.

Nielsen(50%) + 6OA for 29OA
Ericsson + 6OA for 29OA

I dunno. Unless you can move up to get Dahlin, Svech, or Zadina I don't see a whole lot of value in trading up. Boqvist is a maybe but depends on the cost.
