I don't watch the Habs much, and certainly not the Rocket, but this seems a terrible return for Miller and KK even with a bonus of getting Lindgren off the roster.Habs trade Arber Xhekaj, Fabian Xhekaj, Jared Davidson, Luke Tuch to Rangers for a Kaapo Kakko, K'Miller and Lindgren
Habs get some snarl on defense and a reclamation project in Kakko.
Rangers get toughness, physical winger, skill and much needed center depth help
Exactly. They’re upset? Too f***ing bad. Don’t suck so bad. Don’t play several levels below your contract.Group of p***yes. If you're upset then play better and stick a middle finger to your gm. So far their play justifies the GM's view

Davidson and Tuch may have some potential, but neither seem to scream 'upside' that you'd want when you are trading NHL regulars
Wouldn't we be better off just waiving Lindgren (or just letting him walk after the season) and trading the other guys for some better assets?
He just wants fighters on this team. Honestly, it's fans like him I come ot HF to avoid, oh well.
It's too bad we didn't hire Carbery instead of Lavi. He has done a great job thus far with Washington. What coaches are available? Up and comer? Modern day hockey? not left wing lock, 1-3-1 and ring it around the boards
Well you're not gonna get much for players that are garbage. Fans think the Rangers can get something useful for Kakko, Trouba, Lindgren, Miller. Teams only trade for potential if you're in your 1st 2ed maybe 3rd full NHL season. No team will give up anything for Miller. Sadly Kreider had the most value of the core and is one of the few to score in the playoffs. Rangers are in a tough spot. You think teams would give up anything 9f any value for a dman that is big soft and doesn't really produce offense. Wishful thinkingThis is awful.

Why are people clamoring for a different system? The forwards are *literally* not backchecking, as in skating towards guys when the opposition has the puck. They are *literally* not appearing in frame to give their defensemen an outlet.
That's not system or even lack thereof. If they were freelancing there would be some chaotic help.
They are *actively* not helping. They are *actively* sabotaging. This is not some X's and O's issue.
should be non negotiable for next col barg agreAnd what exactly are the players getting in return for losing NMCs? Unless of course you're suggesting teams collude and don't offer them, at which point the PA has a super easy lawsuit waiting
The Rangers for most of the first two months last year actively backchecked and actively played a 1-3-1 and while they still had their wussy tendencies, it was night and day from the Gallant and Quinn years.
Around New years they stopped impeding anyone in the 1-3-1 and if anyone remembers there was a crisis over the neutral zone trap being an expressway. They mitigated that by backing up more and that worked for a while.
Now it's an ultra, ultra soft 1-1-3 that just straight backs up the whole way because impeding guys in the NZ hurts or is icky or something. I've never seen anything like this. Even lazy teams obstruct - these guys won't even do that. Matador D.
Burn it all down. Guys with 20 years in hockey apparently can't notice they are being dummied and are clueless about how to fix it. Gimme a break. They don't wanna. It's that simple.
What the hell is this? Sure you are a Rangers fan?Habs trade Arber Xhekaj, Fabian Xhekaj, Jared Davidson, Luke Tuch to Rangers for a Kaapo Kakko, K'Miller and Lindgren

That's one way to ensure a lockout that would make the 04/05 lockout look like child's play. What could you possibly offer the NHLPA in return for that loss of security?should be non negotiable for next col barg agre
Lavi has served up a painfully conventional neutral zone system run by literally hundreds of teams in the last three decades. These players have played against it, again, probably hundreds of times. We have Kreider, Panarin, Laffy, Trochek, Mika and Smith in the top 6. Of those Trochek is the only "honest" two way player. Mika is supposed to be but he quit the physical part of the game. Kreider too. Smith is a checked out joke (lazy management here again). Panarin is hustling to be fair. Nobody is not saying that there are not issues with the personnel here. But that doesn't mean that what Lavi has served up isn't putrid and stale, just like Gallant before him.

There is no system, 1-3-1. 1-1-3, 2-1-2, 9-0-2-1-0, no system that will work if the players don't want to try. And the last 5 games, they have not wanted to try.
This is not a stylistic issue where Artemi Panarin is not a physical defender. You do not have to be a physical defender to clog the neutral zone. This is a locker room that has mutinied against yet another coach. At some point you stop letting the inmates run the asylum.
I’d clean house starting with waiving Trouba tomorrow if there are no takers.
Staple quoted an unnamed western conference GM who said 25 teams would try to sign Shesterkin next summer even if it cost $13-14 million AAV. If that’s true, find the team that wants him that badly and trade him there.
Then consider moving Panarin and Zibanejad in the summer if possible.
the correct move here is Shesty to LAShesty to Colorado seems to make far too much sense, but they don't have a 1st this year which is a bit annoying

not only that, none of it is necBut they don't even really seem to be 'good' fighters...
If there's some kind of 'NHL player name Scrabble' game I'd make the trade. Between that and Mika you'd have a winning hand!
At the end of the day it's millionaires vs billionaires, however when it comes down to it, I'm on the side of the people with the talent who actually make up the league. Nothing to do with politics at all.Why the hell would I be pro-player in this situation? In this situation their incentives align a lot more with ours. I don't care about the politics of it which is what it seems like a lot of people care about when being pro-player.
It’s Thanksgiving weekend guys(for most of us anyway). We should be spending time with our families instead of stressing out over these overpaid losers on this website.
