Losing streak is at 4 games.
Team is 4th in the Metro with 6Pts behind the 3rd place team.

If the streak continues. And the club starts to fall off the playoff wildcard slot. What does the team then do with Igor? I mean, if you cant even get into a playoff spot, are you really going to sign sign him to the highest goaltender contract ever given out in the NHL?

Or, does Drury say this isnt happening and make him available. He would be a Haul for a club looking for a netminder.

The teams who’d make a trade for Igor are teams without much in the pipeline.

I don't know who the f top shelf hockey is but I can tell you that what ever Kreider says has little impact one way or the other.

Teams are going to review his medicals and not just take his word for it. Plus that entire methodology would go out the window the second he returns to playing.
We could lend Mika and Kreider out to the Flying Fathers....

You don't have 10 forwards called the core to build around. We need to be a little more realistic here. If those 10 are penciled in to build around, we're lacking a lot of star power.

So you assume we will receive nothing in return for Kreider, Lindgren, Shesterkin? Mika Trouba I’m sure it would cost us to move them

He’d be a rental so a deep pipeline wouldn’t really be necessary.

most teams have a 1st. Most of the contenders would have to part with their top prospect (and it won’t be a top 20 or even 30 guy) and another piece.

Pretty garden variety package for a top player at the deadline with the quality of the prospect being better than usual bc of the player being bought.

Sure except that if we’re moving Igor it should be a top prospect guy.
I don’t want a late first.
I want a guy who was a top 10 pick on an elc or unsigned.

LOL, ok I can go along with a typical over-reacting Ranger fan fire sale. It's in our DNA to act like this.
Trade Kreider, trade Trouba, trade Miller, trade Lindgren, trade Igor, trade Trocheck, get Mika and Panarin to waive their NMC.

build around Cuylle-Kakko-Laf
get two pieces to play with Perrault. The pipe dream is probably be McDavid or Eichel via UFA, LW through trade (or Kaprizov or Connor LOL). Use a lot of the trade assets to get defense and a goalie. Schneider, Emery, Fortescue, Jones, Mancini all available if it's for an upgrade. Maybe give Garand some games so we can get a litmus reading on him. Maybe do a goalie tandem thing.
3rd line Othmann-X-Berard
4th line Edstrom-X-Chmelar
X = best of Skyora, Roobroeck, Laba, Lamb
Rempe = 13th forward, deploy when you need to lay the hurt down.
Upgrade the bottom 6 where applicable too.
Ok, bad to the reality of despair.

I would. Crosby and Malkin are infinitely better than krieder and zibs
I would as well. The Pitt guys are older so we would only have a 1-2 year window but this way we wouldn't waste prime years of Laff, Bread, Igor and Fox. Would be interesting to have Karlsson as well. Plus Malkin is meaner than Zib/CK. I really enjoyed CK standing up to "Kachook" last season but that is very rare.

Other option is trades for picks/prospects but we would lose prime years of other guys waiting.

Only option I do not want is doing nothing.
