Kakko has played some of his best hockey yet. He seems to be finding his way in this league and some of you want to trade him??? Him and Cuylle have some great chemistry.

Yall are crazy.

I am ok with trading Lindgren or exploring a Miller trade. I would rather bank on Miller and hope he turns it around. Lindgren’s body wont hold up for the long haul. Would prefer a slightly bigger defenseman over him. And no you wont be able to roll a group of 6 that has both Jones and Mancini in it going into the playoffs. You need experience.

Lastly, Yanni Gourde has to again be at the top of lists for an addition. Even if Chytil comes back.

Another name, and I know this is a long shot and will be met with vitriol, but Pittsburgh is in shambles…Crosby. Put that guy between Cuylle and Kakko.

Well, we are 1-2 with him in the lineup this season. This isn't last season. Teams aren't caught by his reckless forechecks and now they're simply side stepping to go around him. He's young and he's not going to average 10 minutes a night in the NHL. I won't look at his plus minus because he seems to be playing a different role in the AHL than he would be sheltered on the 4th line for us. So let him get some experience even if he makes mistakes. I find the idea that he needs time so he can be ready when playoffs come a bit ridiculous. Rangers aren't offering on the job training here. They need their 4th line to be the best it can be right now especially when our 5 on 5 is lacking.
Teams weren’t “side stepping to go around him though”… 9 out of ten times they were pulling up and rushing a play to avoid getting hit. So hit or miss on the “reckless” forecheck he was disrupting the play. That being said, I agree, let him work on his game in Hartford where he gets minutes and responsibility. What’s the big f***ing rush, right? A kid his size at his age is NOT a finished product. Just look at the big difference between Edstrom last year and this. Let his grow into his body, get his balance and coordination and get minutes in Hartford.

Might as well, he’s gone in the offseason no matter what happens, you think Drury can or will pay this guy 4 mil. Say your good byes Bern
Nah. He’s a guy who can score 40+ EV points while being stellar defensively. Drury can AND will pay this guy 4mil. We won’t be able to replace what he does in the lineup for less than 4mil AND he’s still got some runway. No brainer to sign him IMO.

Mika’s not waiving. Stop with the fantasies.
Everyone always says this but It’s really not that much of a fantasy - the big impediment is his cap hit and term, and even so I think you could find a taker. The issue is NYR would have to basically trade him for free.
Dont underestimate the feeling of not being wanted. Drury has proven to be ruthless - not that farfetched

have already prev shown how it can be done
stop keeping extra coupla guys like Leshitshow not worth the $ cap hit if needed
but can be done

He should def not be traded barring overpayment

WHY ARE WE SO FAST TO BREAK UP A HIGHLY PRODCTIVE KID LINE 2?
B'C CHYTIL IS DOWN ATM?

YOU DON'T RESOLVE THAT BY SUBTRACTING CUYLLE + KK!!!
YOU DO IT BY ADDING CHYTIL REPLACEMENT

gets a love for telllin the truth on the bold

respectful disagree on stay in the A
It's not so much sink or swim as it is acclimate him sooner to where he has to hit his mark
level of talent in minors not going to help w/that
give full 4th line mins here
AND add specialty tutoring here on top of his team practices

In this instance you are all wrong.
You suffer from addiction to win now = instant gratification.
You are unwilling to give the kid what he needs to succeed even more than he already is.
When he is in the lineup, we consistently win.
Bend buckle and break to that reality, admit it, don't pretend it's not true b'c ya wanna bring me down.

He already made huge improvements in his skating and showed this in camp.
His north south speed is exceptional.
He could use more work on other skating aspects.
Best way for that is hire a tutor to stay with him here, do extra drills on top of regular practices.

Vesey is ordinary at best, and invisible in the POs.

coach Lav is wrong for favoring vets over youth, so insufficient development and we are effed for the POs.

no
time to learn with the bern

From Vince:

"Don’t expect to see Matt Rempe attempt to fill the role, either. The 6-foot-9 fan favorite has played some center since his recent demotion to Hartford, but word is that he’s struggled with zero points and a minus-six rating in six appearances. The Rangers want him getting regular AHL ice time and see him as a winger whenever he does make his NHL return."

This is not about "instant gratification", it's about who is the more capable player at this stage and it's not even close. The NHL is not a developmental league and Rempe isn't going to develop into anything worthwhile playing 3-5 minutes a night and having other team's goons looking for a spark for their team.

Vesey can PK. Vesey can be a defensive forward. Vesey has exceptional scoring hands for a 4th line. Vesey can slot up in case of an injury. Vesey has experience. Vesey is cost controlled. Vesey is a VERY capable 4th liner.

Vesey > Rempe.

The only thing we "learn with the bern" is that he slots players into unrealistic positions, proposes ludicrous trades, and thinks XYZ prospect is going to be the next thing and they never even become A thing at all.

Other teams can scratch veteran players if they are struggling

Obviously would never happen but I'd be interested in seeing Kakko play 3C while Chytil is out. Throw Jimmy Vesey on the RW and see if Kakko can hold down a good shut-down line as the center. I think he could definitely succeed in that role at this point.

Kakko to center, Miller to wing. This is how the Rangers will re-tool on the fly.
