I don't know how anyone is carving in stone anyone's role on this team at this point...
New coaching staff, young players coming up, COMPLETELY NEW DIRECTION
Everyone is being given a fresh slate IMO
ADA, Pionk, Buch, Vesey, McQuaid and YES EVEN STAAL
Would anyone want the coaches to be thinking in any other fashion?
Today is Media Day.. maybe we wait a few practices before waiving ADA and sending Pionk down and having McLeod on the 2nd line and McQuaid on the top pair?

And this is why, if you identify a player you want, you don't hold your breath for free agency. Not necessarily that the Rangers were banking on it, but we talked about this a lot this summer.

f*** it. I will gladly take the 2nd overall spot in the lottery just to see this happen. I can't wait to see the outcry league-wide when Colorado wins the Cup and then the draft lottery just a 2 weeks later

Yes they will.
Win the Hughes lottery and this team is ready to contend again in 2 years. Even another top 10 pick allows for the window to reopen again in 3 or 4 years. Panarin and Karlsson are still going to be great to elite players during that time.

Honestly? I hope he stays in the KHL for another year. I think that's better for his development. I would like him to go through a development-curve similar to Kuznetsov
