I mean how else should one take it?

Look forward to you unsuccessfully trying to move the goal posts on this one.

Calling out the 4 best skaters we’ve had on our most successful run of late doesn’t really give you any room to throw any stones. Nor does wanting to play Mackey more lol.

Again. You missed the loint. You have been called out before for this. Reading comprehension.

Brodzinski has quietly been a defensive beast this season and NYR probably have no clue. This is what I assume they think Goodrows impact is
No he hasn’t… Brodzinski is a nightmare out there. Like every game every shift that he has to defend.

I guess you weren’t watching last night when in the 2nd the Zib line and D pair needed a line change badly and Brodzinski, who did get on the ice as the first change, couldn’t complete a 10’ pass as he was exiting his zone on the tape of his teammates stick who was open in the neutral zone leading to a turnover and then them getting pinned in their own end for high danger chances.

In the 3rd period, he is retrieving a dump-in in his own end in the corner to the right of Quick. He has Zac Jones coming back open that he could wheel it around to on the LW boards. Instead he attempts to chip to Gustafsson right in front of him in that corner with COL pressure coming on. Leads to a turnover.

This isn’t a one-off, this is all the time with him. He skates fast and that’s about it. He has garbage hands. Can’t make passes. Can’t defend. Kills possession. His “great” shot seemingly never goes in or misses the net for a turnover

Get that guy out of here.

Brodzinski is a wonderful AHL player, Cuylle and Kakko deserve better.
bold = true, but he is sufficient atm as a stopgap until a higher talent (Zegras?) can be acquired.
There is clear visual that Cuylle-Kakko works.
We could experiment and put Zib as pivot there...
but do we want to avoid answering the question if Zib should instead be RW bookend to Kreider w/another pivot?

Chemistry is a fragile thing.
It is not usually instant, and the more electric it is, the more it is the result of linemates developing comfort and familiarity to be better effective by having improved reaction to reading creating/plays.

Yes, I am optimistic we can/will get Zegras + for Othmann ++.
Until then, given no Chytil, Brod is best fit and should get more, not less mins.
Commit to the experiment, stop jerking guys in and out interfering with chemistry developing.

I'm most likely wrong but, I think the main objective for this team should be to fill out spots as cheap as possible. I'd go Roslovic & Novak I think it gives PL options to play with. Novak can be an elite 4c but I think his style of play can fit in well with Cullye & KK. Also Roslovic can add a bit of speed and creativity to KZ but if it doesn't work it gives PL the option to try him w/Culle & KK. I don't think either player will cost as much as Henrique, and NYR wouldn't need retention on either deal. Plus I don't think the costs of Henrique, Vatrano really puts this team over the top. Also after watching last night Wheeler is 100% not an everyday player. He has a good play on a shift and then when the puck goes back the otherway he literally just stands there in the d zone, let him rest and use him as needed for injuries/rest days.

K-Z-Roslovic
Panarin-Troch-Laf
Cuylle-Novak-KK
Vesey-Brodz-Goodrow
Wheeler

I don’t see Drury trading Othmann whatsoever. I think he would trade Perreault though.

Leon Rose is sitting on a motherlode of future assets. The Knicks are waiting for the right opportunity to trade them.

Chris Drury has swapped a million picks for nothing. Drury's trades still owe future picks. 3rd round pick in 24 to the Blues in the Tarasenko trade. 3rd round pick in 25 to the Coyotes for Kane's retention. Two second round picks in 2025 and 2026 to Arizona for Nemeth's contract.

If Drury trades the 2nd in 24, the Rangers won't have their 2nd and 3rd round picks in back to back years. 2024 and 2025.

Drury trades the 2nd in 24, the Rangers won't have their 2nd round pick for three straight years.

Drury didn't trade picks for player like Coloroado did with Toews and then signed him?

Drury trades for dust in the wind.

I fully expect Drury to swap whatever picks he has remaining to patch the holes and all of the fish following this team will applaud those moves like last season with Tarasenko and Kane.
Don't really disagree with any of this. Just pointing it out to avoid people shouting "BUT DOLAN!!!!" without giving any other thought to the matter.

If he really wants to make a better Knicks/Rangers comparison, its figuring out what kind of player we can package Kakko and Lindgren for that makes the pieces fit together. Like Rose just did with Anunoby.

You’re in a mood this morning
Idk Vatrano always gets touted as a guy who fills a need and I just don't see it. He's a guy that's good at scoring despite not having the puck that much. That's the one thing the roster already has.

We already know he's not really a fit. The Kreider-Zibanejad-Vatrano line got absolutely wrecked at 5v5 in the playoffs.

Vince's article is hilarious.

There are maybe 3 people on this planet to can skate with MacKinnon. Unless you're adding those guys there is no one you can trade for who is going to really help enough there. Yes their speed was in display in the 1st period, but 90% of that was him. Most of the other teams out there (probably every other team out there) are not as fast, and their speed does not come in the form of MacK who is the front runner for the MVP.

Ah this is the approach you're gonna go with. I very much doubt that the person who you're trying to piggyback off of even read what you wrote lol.

You should rebrand as the headless horseman, your takes would make sense then.

Either way I've wasted enough time with you.

you are correct that is entirely possible

we are effed in several ways, and need to be open to moving/not moving any/all of Ott/Per/LaF IF IF IF there is enuf profit to upgrade foundation pieces esp C and D.

Oh yeah, fake captain is gone this summer hopefully.

He's still a top 4 d on 95% of teams in the league. Hope we make another team pay through the nose with the cap jump, a little salary retention and sell high on the 'elbow of doom'.

Vince has a point about the team being a bit faster, but yeah, it was weird to bring up the MacKinnon goal.

That's just a count-on-one-hand caliber of player going off. Chris Pronger, Larry Robinson, Guy Carbonneau, and Patrice Bergeron all on the ice together aren't stopping that goal.

The only response to that hopefully getting somebody who can do it on the other end someday.

Does anyone know how to stream college hockey games? I live in Canada and can't watch any college hockey without a US address. I'm willing to pay a subscription... but it is not available anywhere.

I really don't see the need to go out and get a 40 goal guy. Would it be nice? Sure. But I think the team would be better served finding a couple of guys who don't mind the middle of the ice and can get to the other teams net and play sound defensive hockey. Center is going to be hard, I'm all aboard the Hayes train for reasons I've outlined previously. Apart from that, I like Girgensons as a depth center option.
