How did we go from a cap crunch this year to be able to give Malkin 8mil and Kane 5mil?

I'd rather have Brett Howden center Panarin than have to look at Malkin's jacked up face for 82 games. Dude has a face not even a mother could love. Like a troglodyte. Derp. Lower lip drags on the ice. F that guy.
I hate Malkin.

But in no f***ing world would I rather Brett Howden center Panarin. Heck I dont want him centering any lines

Lol we are all kidding ourselves if we dont believe that the NHL wont cheat for Chicago to get bedard next season. Bettman and the NHL did it for the Pens when they got Crosby, Malkin, Staal, and Fluery. 4 years straight of top 3 picks basically.

Chicago will get the same treatment. This isnt arizona or newly minted seattle. This is chicago, an original 6 franchise. The NHL will not let them wallow away in nothingness. They helped save Pittsburgh, they will do the same with Chicago.
Don’t forget Edmonton and New Jersey.

Seravelli continuing to push Kadri to the Rangers. He must be getting bribed by his agent
Seravelli wanted to take Bob McKenzie's spot. He's just some mouthpiece schill that gets used and tossed around by agents and front offices. He has not personal integrity.

Meh, he’s 6’3 24 years old and had 9 goals and 20 points in 47 games last year. I hated him here, mostly because Quinn wanted him to lead the team in ice time, but he was physical let year, blocked 36 shots in 47 games and was 48% in the dot with room to improve. For a minimum contract he’d be fine.
Agreed. Perfect post

Yea let's take our 20 year old 1st overall pick who just scored 19 EV goals mostly with the balls and chains of this roster offensively, and bury him on the 3rd line again with no PP1 time again so that we can trade a handful of quality young assets for aging Kane, a winger. And then damage our franchise even more by badly overpaying a shitbag at the tail end of his career to center our second line.

Giving dark ages Rongos a run for their money.

For the record I am not in favor of adding any big contract center. The closest thing to that, that I would add is Dubois. But he's still young.

I don't want to add Miller, Malkin, Strome (neither one), Stastny. I'd prefer a long term actual solution. Committing to Dubois long term is fine by me because we have absolutely nothing in the system at the center position. He turned 24 in June and has two 60 point seasons. Chytil for reference turns 23 before the season starts and his career high is 23 points. Only a year and some months older than Chytil and already has borderline 1C seasons under his belt, and has history with Panarin.

But if it's not a player like Dubois, I don't really have interest. No team wins a Cup or multiple Cups with a revolving door of mediocrity at 2C.

I don't understand how this organization has consistently failed for decades to address the need to draft and develop centers.
You may not have liked their 2nd round pick the other day then. Cornering the lw position.

Would you rather lose than win?
I'd rather win without rival team's aged out high priced players crippling this team's cap situation.

I didn't love it. But after all the impact centers were taken by the time we picked, I was pretty "meh" about it. None of those players are going to effect what the team's needs are now or any time soon anyway.

Leafs gonna Leaf. My lord, what a dumb move. Replacing two question marks in net with an even bigger one.

Yea I don't get it either. Bother the Leafs and the Oilers just always seem to go for these reclamation or fraud type goalies that just aren't good enough and they are wasting precious years of Matthews and Mcdavid amongst others. They both have plenty of offense trade something of value and get a damn goalie for gods sake. Obviously it won't be a shesty type but get even a legit top 12 goalie top 10? And please no regular season fraudulent statistics needed. It's like a repetitive vicious cycle. The best is when there starter namely the leafs gets hurt then some dude comes in plays hot on January and they think that's him we got it. We all know how it ends always for both teams. Wousers!!
