It better be a legitimate report. Not something you heard from a “source” who probably “heard” something secondhand and did not directly witness it. Stastny would be a good get and fits the teams makeup. He’s still a solid player, brings experience and leadership. Another guy the group can push for to get a cup as well


6 years for Copp scares me, he has a very concerning injury history. I’m fine with overpaying over 4 years for Copp though

id agree with this but depending on the degree of overpayment you have in mind, were in a tight spot for how much we can overpay this year alone as it is. looking ahead to next year though we're in a horrible spot made worse when it comes to kandre alone, and laf could easily play himself into a challenging number even on a bridge deal. theres also guys like krav and chytil if still around as variables with the potential to command a lot of money.

honestly the more i think about it, maybe you're right. for the 23-24 season you have roughly 60mm committed to 9 guys. theres almost no way forward without dumping some big contracts - likely panarin, trouba, or both - if you have any plans to keep k'andre/laf/kakko/kravtsov/schneider around for a while. covid timing screwed us so bad. the question is can that be done re moving contracts - those guys can just say no to any move even if it means not playing.

drury gonna have to show hes a genius / magician or be backed into losing some of the best pieces of the rebuild right as they start hitting their stride. that would be so rangers too gd i wish i hadnt thought about this

Well this is what you get with Canadian reporters reporting on Canadian teams selling to an American team. Alvine may have asked that but it's so nonsensical that you only report that for the clicks. There's no world the rangers trade laf for Miller. So stupid.

I have no issues with Chytil being used as a 3rd line center as long as he gets plenty of icetime and some PP time.

I have no issues with Chytil being used as a 3rd line center as long as he gets plenty of icetime and some PP time.

And I don't see Dylan strome here as the 2c but Drury has things very tight right now so the next two weeks will be quite interesting. I think he is waiting to see if something beyond the usual suspects shakes free that better fits here

Anaheim has a rather impressive D prospect pool already if I'm not mistaken. Also Mason may go back as UFA. Maybe one of our young forwards might be more interesting to them.
