Isn’t he a RD also?
Also…it’s 2022….time to get over him
Stralman has been able to play both sides in the past. He is still an effective enough player that coming here as a 6th/7th is a no brainer. A responsible defenseman in the room with all the youth really couldn’t hurt. He averaged 21/18/21 TOI the last 3 years. Here the load would be lessened for him.

Kreider Zib Laf
Panarin Tro Kakko
Blais Chytil Krav
Hunt Goodrow Reaves
Carpenter

Jones or Robertson for 3LD
This is realistic but I just don't know that I like blais on 3rd line coming off another injured season.

If othmann impresses enough I really wonder if we could see:
Kreider Zib Laf

Panarin Tro Krav

Otter Chytil Kakko

Blais Goodrow Reaves

Hunt

Why would krav get the 2nd line spot?

Stralman is interesting but frankly there is no reason not to let Jones (or Nils, if he was gonna show up) earn that last LD spot. Stopgaps aren’t gonna help. Just let Jones learn all season. If you need a vet at the deadline then pay a third or fourth to get one.

It’s going to be interested to see what moves are made once Cuylle forces his way onto the team. The kid is just what the doctor ordered for this bottom six. Very excited about him.

Blais can play the fourth line where he belongs?

And FWIW if Gallant puts both Blais and Cuylle on the third line and then says he doesn’t want Kravtsov on the fourth so he doesn’t make the team again, he’s a stone cold idiot.

If Cuylle is good enough to make the team than either he or Blais should be on the fourth line banging and giving that line some juice. And by he or Blais, I mean Blais.

And Kravtsov should be next to Chytil on the third line, let it be a new kid line and stick Cuylle there.

Talented people don't know how to teach people well below their skill level. I've tried teaching 2nd graders math, but I can't get past how dumb they are. Can't relate. What do you mean? Just multiply them together. The best 2nd grade teachers are only a little bit smarter than the kids.
Is that why we have a hard time communicating? I always feel like there's a distance between us due to your superior intellect and humor.

his numbers from last year were not that good. While maybe he's worth a PTO, I really think we need a kid to win that left spot for long term success.

Any reason you're assuming the absolute worst of gallant?
Yes Cuylle is a guy who could develop playing 4th line time, but if he absolutely balls out on the offensive side, something he clearly worked on the past 2 years, then he might have actually earned a spot on the third.
That said, the top 9 RW spot is kratsov's to lose. But if he comes in, and doesn't actually keep it, then its not on gallant.
Also I'd rather othmann than Cuylle make the team. Cuylle goes to the AHL, gets top minutes develops there working more on his offensive game.

They prioritized Blais over him last year. Was foolish then and would be even more foolish this year. Kravtsov was good enough out of camp to be on the third line. He should be this year.

I am not expecting or wanting Stralman to win the last spot. I think that should go to a kid. But at the end of the day they are still kids and certainly couldn’t hurt to have Stralman spell that kid from time to time. Stralman could also step in to give Schneider a break from time to time. Stralman playing 20-30 games could end up being hugely beneficial for the long haul of the season for both the bottom pair kids and the team’s plans.

It’s said, that if you sit at the end of the player’s bench during Rangers home games you can still hear his voice. wow, gives me the chills

Love seeing Jones taking the initiative to join the Rangers rookie camp as his own decision. Shows some humility which bodes well for his future growth. Pulling for the kid big time. I know he’s got the skill to be on this team. I think his size works against him but really hope he can overcome.

Do we expect Dryden Hunt to have improved from last season and if so, by how much?

He is a late bloomer who hasn’t cut any corners which have given him a pretty steady progress rate. He played well last season and while of course falling a little short for the bigger roles he got, if he can have more confidence this year, be a little smarter with the puck, finish a little better — he isn’t far off.

Agree 100%

If both Othmann and Cuylle play well enough, I'd prefer Othmann, I like his offensive potential more.

Does he play with a stick? I feel like all he does is run around, with intensity I'll give you that, but aimlessly like a chicken with its head cut off. I can't recall a single instance where he did anything with his stick or the puck.

First thought I had was: this guy will cheap shot and concuss a rookie of ours who’s having an unexpectedly good camp.
This would be classic Rongos to the max.

I'm fine with him on the 4th line, but he just doesn't have the hands or speed to play higher in the lineup. And honestly, I'm not even sure that someone like Cuylle hasn't already surpassed him. The bottom 6 of our lineup in going to be very crowded if one or two of Kravtsov/Othmann/Cuylle make the team out of camp.

Othmann will go back to the OHL
Cuylee will start in the AHL but will get looks
Kravtsov has no options he’s making it
4th line needs to be the energy line so Blais , Carpenter ,Hunt/Reaves Imo
Goodrow should be W Chytil to take his faceoffs

This is my thoughts exactly
