Another young player/prospect complaining of our usage and communication with him?

tenor.gif
Don't see anything that would allude to communications. And players stating that they want to play more is hardly an inditement.

They're not gonna cuff themselves completely like they're the championship blackhawks and deal with it as it comes. Functionally there is only room for two wingers to get big $.
I do not understand. Cuff themselves to what?

You can sign him. Just means that there is no Eichel in the future. Or probably Mika.

What does the return profile look like for Buch?

Lemieux, Howden, Gauthier scratched on a cycle, no one is cementing an NHL spot after a combined 200+ games over the last 3 years.
Kakko, Lafreniere, and Chytil unhappy about minutes, usage, and role after previous concerns and off season complaints
Kravstsov returning from exercising his reassignment clause with extreme prejudice and Quinn, Knoblauch, Gorton, and JD still haven't provided an answer fans believe. It wasn't just "disappointment" for both him and Andersson. Andersson still dead.

There's going to be trouble at some point the rest of the year and the off season if Quinn isn't let go.

Cuff themselves to not being able to have well paid centers? Come on bro

Re: Buch. We lived through his growing pains, his ups and downs, the frustrating times we thought he might never be as good as we had hoped. Now that we are reaping the benefits of all the time and effort that was put into his development, and he has become that player, the idea of trading him does not make any sense. It is an inefficient use of time and resources. The team put in the time, now its time to reap those benefits.
we did the same thing with Kevin Hayes

it comes down to contract demands. I really do think he gets 2-3 years

I am still fervent in my belief that this organization does not know how to develop forwards properly. This mandate from up top that the younglings have to focus on defense first and not further developing what got them here in the first place will haunt this franchise forever. They have to learn how to do what they’re known for at this level first before trying to become Patrice Bergeron.

You have to walk before you can run. That means reps, and that means having the freedom to try and fail, analyze, and try again until they learn what works and when. If they don’t fail, they will never learn. Right now they are too afraid to fail.
This mandate of trying to win at this very moment instead of making them a priority will haunt this franchise until the end of time.

It’s sad because how long has this franchise waited to pick this high and have this kind of homegrown talent? The Rangers will never get this lucky again. And of course, smartest people in the room syndrome will ruin it. Disgusted.

I am telling you a way. If that is the way that they will move is a different story.

But think of this logically. The wings on the Rangers are the actual play drivers. If they are the drivers, then the centers do not need to be. Then you have a Strome, who is a 2C. BUT when with Panarin, he masquerades as a 1C. So now you have cut the need for a top line center. Chytil, the belief goes, can be the second center. Your wings are the drivers of play and are paid as such.

And what centers are you paying a lot of money for? Where are they?

Once Kratsov gets in the lineup, the only place he should go in right into Blackwell's spot on the rw with panarin and strome. This kid has done a 180 since his first run in NA and he isn't 18 anymore. Put him in a place to succeed right out of the gate.

We'll see Big Kid line, Kravstov-Howden-Lemieux.

They can't develop forwards properly and yet our leading point getter is a home grown forward and our leading goal scorer is also home grown forward. Weird.

Fortunately, I think Laf and Kakko are too good and dedicated to fail.

I think Kakko deserves that spot.

I wouldn't care either way but you should try to build up Kakko

So develop a two way player or develop a team full of Patrick Laines. Laine is a good player. Know how far a team full of Laines gets? Nowhere. And you can see how trying to teach him defense now, as opposed to the beginning is going.

As far as developing forwards, how far back in time do you want to go? And are you only looking at first round picks that are drafted? This is fairly important if you are making statements like that. Let's leave the last two years out of this, as that will be the thing that you will try to cling to. 2018 brought Kravstov, who has been looking fine. But you will say that it is not with the Rangers, so that is too early to tell. The year before that was Andersson and Chytil. Chytil, prior to his injury, was looking as the best center on the team. And Andersson is now an afterthought with a completely different team. The 4 years before that, the team had no first round picks. In fact, you need to go back to 2011 when they drafted Miller. So that is a decade's worth of data, with 40% spent not having a first round pick at all. Exactly how far back in time do you want to go?

Kreider, Buchnevich, Fast, Miller, all seem to be doing fine. Or are we going to get after them for not developing the likes of a Ryan Gropp or Tomas Zaborsky?

Wingers driving centers is an edge situation that relies on chemistry as much as line combinations. There's a reason it's not done on team wide bases.

It's a poor way to design a team. We certainly saw what Kreider and Buch, two average 1st line wings did with a center who needed help.

The Buchnevich point will only hold so long. One forward vs., Anderson, Kakko, Laf, and god forbid Kravtsov - keep talking about Buch. What’s the chance all of the forwards we drafted were busts? Seems like somethings rotten from the head down. But yea BuChNeViCh will save the franchise lmao

I think Kakko deserves that spot.

Kakko has been playing okay but no producing, Kratsov is coming in from a very solid season in the 2nd or 3rd best league in the world, and given his age, adjustments he's made in his game since his first NA attempt, and the fact Kakko really hasn't accomplished anything on the wing of that line I think Kratsov should be plugged right in. This isn't some plug coming over from the MHL or something, and this kid has made the changes to his game that he was asked to focus on. He should be treated every bit like a top ten pick that has done everything asked of him, produced at a high level in other top leagues, and someone with the skill to play on that spot in the lineup. I honestly am not sure why kakko "deserves" the spot. I want him to deserve it, but if he cant slot their over Blackwell right now than I dont see why he would over kratsov. I think a lot of people are sleeping on kratsov bc he's been in europe and we have several newer toys to fixate on, this kid has the potential to be a real player and is in his D+3 season. It is time to give him a chance to flourish and find out what we have here bc it is surely going to impact what the do with buch in some way depending if he excels or struggles mightily. Kratsov would easily be a top 2-3 prospect in most NHL systems right now...
