Quinn is a 10x better coach than Green
Green has that smug AV demeanor on top of being a garbage coach too

That would be almost the weirdest hire. Not sure how you'd sell this to the casual fans that barely even know who Green is and how do you sell this to Jimmy who wants either Torts physical blue collar coach or a proven winner like AV was? Hell, the concept of a teaching coach is more marketable than Green who has no playoff success or regular season success to his name aside from a few wins last season that wouldn't have happened without COVID.

I know what you’re thinking and I don’t think it does. Otherwise we would be sans several other players
There are many players it'd apply to but not many are as open about it like those two. Lemieux is also sorta synonymous with Tony and it may be that they wanted to distance themselves from them. Idk, what Carp said was very cryptic and alludes to it being some nefarious reason that they covered up with how he's saying the official story was a lie but he can't tell us more yet. Or us speculating like this is exactly what Carp wanted

Because he was closest to him in the locker room and it was causing friction would be my guess. Carp seems to be implying its something more significant than just cursing at a coach even. Doubt we will ever know the truth though

You guys recall when Steve Valiquette threw some shade during the intermission and said something like "Now we're gotten rid of the players you don't want (or the pariahs or whatever) and now the room is jelling" I am of the belief that DeAngelo challenged Quinn verbally in a way that made Gorton warn him and Lemieux must have continued that attitude without going as far as Tony did but eventually wore out his welcome with Quinn/the room?

You may be right. Carp has been full of Carp about many things.

Lemieux was a former high draft pick playing 8 minutes a night. He wasn't on the PP or PK. The ask for a trade for a bigger role story just flat out fits. He wasn't going to have a big role here with so many LWs ahead of him on the depth chart.

I’ve been pumping Sully’s tires all season. I think the Pens are going to make a change. And I think it’s a matter of when, not if, the Rangers bring him back.

It’s got all the markings of a Rangers hire. Former Rangers draft pick. Former Rangers assistant coach. The “coming home” storyline.

Why would the Pens make a change? They are playing great and 1st in the division despite a ton of injuries. I would love to have him on the Rangers but it's not happening.

It's funny because Sully has clearly grown into one of the better coaches around, and likely so will DQ. For all the hate he gets around here, he is young and will likely have a long and succesful career coaching in this league.

Quinn is in his 50s. That's young for life but not for a first time NHL coach. I doubt he ever is a head coach in this league again unless he's an assistant and takes over as an interim.

It makes me sick to my stomach that this may have been Buchnevich’s last game. But if that’s what it takes for Kakko and Kravtsov to get consistent ice time and develop properly, I’ll just have to accept it. Just wish Kravtsov was experimented at center a bit more.

I really don't see the rush in moving Buch just yet. They don't have to force feed Kravtsov into a top-6 role and it's not like Buch is taking away PP ice time from Kakko considering they were both on PP2. 22-23 is when they might be forced to move him for cap reasons. But if they want they can easily fit him in next season.

The Kings have:

Kopitar
Byfield
Turcotte
Vilardi
Kupari
Madden
Anderson-Dolan
Andersson

and more competent guys down the middle.

If I’m Drury (it feels weird typing that instead of Gorton), I trade one of Jones/Lundkvist/Miller for one of Turcotte/Vilardi/Kupari. It’s going to hurt, but we need to get this done.

Miller for Vilardi is intriguing. I would consider Robertson for Kupari.

If Buch is willing to sign without a full NTC/NMC that would be amazing. We won’t have to trade him until it’s absolutely necessary. We might not get the same return we’d get right now, then again, we might. And we’d keep a skilled forward who while not a bruiser, won’t take any shit. Those kinds of forwards are in short supply on this team at the moment.

Carp wrote this in the comments section of his last wrap up of the season. I do wonder what this means.
He’s was Ada”s best bud. Of course it’s got more to do then ice time. Just like the JD /Gorts firings have a hell of a lot more to the story. I can’t believe that people actually believe the fairy tales released from thE PR department when they occur.

Why would they trade him for that?

If we're spinning the wheel, i'm gonna say he cursed out someone on the coaching staff. Though it's entirely possible Carpy is just looking for post season attention.
I’m guessing the team was way more split on the Georgiev/ ADA confrontation that were ever going to know. Quinn asked Gorts to get rid of both players instead of having the room fractured the entire season. Things kept getting worse, lemmy is eventually shipped out as well, leaving the rangers without 2 of the main guys that gave the team their instigating, chippy, swagger and it was never really replaced

Fast was the glue binding the entire team.

Unironically, things escalated quickly without Hank, Staal and Fast.

Rangers: both nefarious against their own players and really slow and easily distracted.

They wanted Lemieux out despite the best interest of the team bc of his friendship with ADA but OOH LOOK SHINY damn forgot to trade him for 50 f***ing games.

ADA talk gives people brain worms. Myself included.

Yep, remove the older leadership without anything in its place and things can turn pretty quickly as we’ve all witnessed
