We've been thinking that the Rangers are going to have to move out a few players to become cap compliant. Will they though? Gorton and JD will likely try to point to the Labanc contract as a comparable for Buchnevich. If we can lock him in to a 1x1 deal that would go a long way to either keeping Kreider or avoiding a buyout. Both are coming off their ELC and Labanc outscored Buch by 18 points last year and 15 over the last two.

I can't tell if you're being serious or not lol.

LaBanc would be a UFA after this season by taking a 1 year deal...I think. Shrewd move by him if that's correct.

Yeah, but Trouba only brought back Pionk and a 1st!

The whole point is to free up cap space and continue to open up roster spots. Trading him for even a 3rd rounder I'd be more than ok with. 6m off the cap and a pick in a deep draft.. sign me up

Wonder if the Lebanc contract has some decent signing bonus

the signing bonus is part of the $1 mil...according to capfriendly $285K signing bonus, $715k salary.

only performance bonuses can add to the value of a deal and you can only get those if you are on a ELC, 35+ or coming back from injury but I forget how that exception works.

"The player has signed a one-year contract after returning from a long-term injury (has played 400 or more games, and spent 100 or more days on the Injured Reserve in the last year of their most recent contract)."

Yeah, but I don't think anyone is taking the full hit.

Lol if McDavid wants to be traded there are no untouchables unless he says he will only play here and will sit out if not dealt.

But the guys we may have to move to accomplish it would be like, Panarin and Lundqvist, etc, may not be moveable.

Yeah, but I don't think anyone is taking the full hit.

yea I doubt it too but have no problem retaining 50% of his contract or waiting until the trade deadline bc someone will need a pp QBs on their team for the playoffs.

Just trade krieder and names for picks and prospects and we are good. Let those co tracts run out so we can fully use our entire cap on guys we will need to the future and I'm happy. No need to rush the rebuild bc we got panarin

@Amazing Kreiderman you didn’t tell us you were at Monday Night Raw in New Jersey!:sarcasm:
