I could see FL going for that. I just can't see the appeal playing for them. I lived down there for a while, the arena just feels like a ghost town for so many games.

I’m not saying they aren’t willing to spend. They always have been. I’m saying they are still a floundering organization at the present moment. An open checkbook, new practice facility and getting Q to come coach for 6 mil a year doesn’t change that

All joking aside, the Panthers are an interesting destination for a guy like Panarin. A chance to be The Savior, a well-respected coach, a number of good young players. Its not like they're a lost cause. But personally I think the Rangers offer so much more upside and excitement.

I love the idea of Gusev but I'm way too risk averse to give a guy who hasn't played in the NHL $6M+ and term. But I guess the saving grace with Russians is sometimes they just go back to Russia
