That's why Johnson was added to the deal. They wanted to trade Smith regardless of the expansion draft. Johnson was a throw-in for the expansion draft

Exactly why they would trade for Raanta. He would be solid as a starting goalie, IMHO.

Johnson would be a perfect backup for Lundqvist. I doubt Vegas would take him so no problem exposing him.

Raanta and Stepan for Perlini, 7th OA and CJ.
