Stepan for Dumba + something nice is a deal I could get behind. Dumba has lots of potential, could be a good fit next to McD.

Buying out Girardi was a mistake.

Having a Staal - Girardi pairing playing 20+ minutes a night for your team was a huge advantage over other teams in the tank for Dahlin and Svechnikov.

I think this is likely as well, and I'd like the move. Still think Galchenyuk can be groomed as a center, it would be better to do it here considering he wouldn't be thrust into #1 ice time and responsibility unlike Montreal who has center depth comparable to the Coyotes.

Not that I'm comparing Galchenyuk to Yzerman, but , he didn't become a good defensive center until Bowman got to Detroit. The same thing happened to Modano when Hitch got to Dallas. Of course, I'd feel better if Babcock was the coach.

I mean, that's always the initial concern when you're potentially trading a top line player. I trust Gorton will make the right deal for fair value.

I don't think we were ever in on Duchene. COL wants a defenseman and that's not a position of strength for the Rangers.
