If this team once again fails to proceed very far in the playoffs, what would you want them to do?

Hey, looks logical.

But I wonder now that Krieder is gone, it could open up more of an opportunity for him on that side now.
He absolutely could but his name has also been floated out there (I thought by Friedman but I forget who). They still have Cuylle and Panarin to play 1/2LW. Zibanejad probably plays 1RW though. I can see Drury jumping at the opportunity to get Svechnikov.

Cuylle-Miller-Zibanejad
Panarin-Trochek-Svechnikov
Othmann-X-Perreault

Yes he gave him the choice and probably didn't expect him to go. Treliving wouldn't make the decision for him.
This is such a nothing thing, rivals the not being announced to the 1st 6 for Team Canada
True and it’s very disturbing if he received death threats as a result. Nobody deserves that. Blame management if he walks, not the player. It was his right as per his contract to refuse. I’m fine with him walking so it would be hypocritical to hold a grudge against him because he didn’t waive and we got nothing.

I mentioned the Rangers as a potential team if Nylander were to be moved. Something around Nylander + Benoit for Lafreniere + Trocheck. Would also love to get Schneider involved somehow.

Panarin - Zibanejad - Nylander
Cuylle - Miller - __________

Pretty good top six for the Rangers.

Knies - Matthews - __________
Lafreniere - Trocheck - Domi

Pretty good top six with an identity change for sure. I would be eyeing Boeser to play on that top line with the cap space we’d have. Guessing a 7 year deal at 8.5 million per.

Trocheck doesn't have a NMC so he is open to being moved but I just don't see it. From all accounts he is the reason Miller wanted to go to NYR. They were best friends growing up and always wanted to play together. It also seems like the Rangers want to let the Miller-Zibanejad connection ride since they played so well together after the trade. If Miller and Zibanejad are together they suddenly only have 2 top 9 C's. If Trocheck is moved they suddenly have 1 top 9C.

Nylander for Laf is a base that works for NYR I'm sure but keep in mind Toronto will have 0 RS F is Nylander is moved (assuming Jarnkrok also traded).

Also - avoid Boeser at all costs. I actually think a good comparable for him is Jeff O'Neill.

I’m not moving Nylander unless we’re addressing our center position need, otherwise we’re left in the same situation but worse off most likely (going from Nylander to Lafreniere).

Utah would be another team I can see a deal being reach if Nylander were willing to waive to go there… Guenther + Hayton + pick type move.

Neither would I. I don't think NYR sign off on the proposed deal though.

Maybe Nylander for Cirelli.

I hated that trade the moment it was made. Then to make it worse Marchand goes to Florida for a 2nd. Laughton couldn’t even lace Marchand’s skates

The real winner is Briere who fleeced Tre big time

Just to right a wrong I would trade Laughton at the deadline for as much as possible. I’d give him time with the top guys to inflate his numbers.
A pick and a prospect for a guy already in the NHL. I take the player.

You can’t compare the Marchand situation. Marchand wasn’t coming here. Boston wouldn’t trade him here.
