Jimmy Firecracker
Lord of the Knies
Boeser might be interesting. Pure goal scorer and shoots right, which would be ideal to replace our outgoing right-shot RW in Mitch. Good playoff numbers too.
Signing and building your team in free agency is going to be one of the worst things this team can do, Unfortunately unless they are trading Cowan + Danford and future picks, it's the only solution.Bennett making over 8M is pretty insane and could very well be in line to beat Clarksons contract from years ago. But that's what it would take for sure. Domi is just gone magically as well. And there's no way you get Crouse at 50% for a bunch of crap.
Fabbro would be a sneaky good pick-up. But I think the problem with the D core here is largely the same... we need more firepower. Not easily fixed though so perhaps you double down on good defensive players.

Kampf and Jarkrok are small beans; they're actually decent bottom 6ersQuick hits....Marner is gone right? Not much debate?
Probably gone...JT...a lot of guys run from this city but he runs towards it but his lack of foot speed became obvious as the series went on and he's too similar to Matthews and Nylander. It would take a gargantuan pay cut for him to return.
Rielly and Domi? I would like to move on from Rielly...also Domi.
Jarnkrok, Kampf and Robertson also seem like guys that are gone.
Leaving...Woll and maybe McMann as conversation pieces.
McMann is probably appealing in very specific scenarios such as a team having a better more expensive player but getting squeezed on the cap and want a guy back to replace some of the offense cheaper.
Woll I am a bit concerned about trading because Stolarz only has a year left, the tandem was a reason we won the division but he could maybe return back a piece we need.
Only other guy if you want to dig further is maybe Benoit is a guy you would be able to sell high on.

Rielly and Domi, I agree with. With Mo, it's just time to move on, unfortunately, really like him as a guy. Domi is an idiot whom I would take to the airport. Possible buyout, honestly.
Guys, like Robertson, McMann, and even Holmberg, should you look to do a small deals that pays off big. Won't hit on all of them, but got to try.
Well, I've got no idea. Athletically so talented, but in terms of demeanour, I don't know if he's got it. I'd see what's out there for him.
I dunno if it can only be Cowan and Danford to be traded, but anytime to you target a top player from another it will take some good pieces and the Leafs are definitely depleted in good available assets.
But this team already has most of it's pieces locked up or in the case of Knies, RFA. If Marner does walk, and it's almost a sure thing now, I think they have enough money to bring in a few players of varying quality to fill different roles. They just have to be smart and also cautious of who they target but it's not like they need 50M to sign over 10 players here.
People want to dismantle the team and almost every player not named Knies and Nylander, which is not going to happen. For my money, Knies, Matthews, Nylander, Laughton, Domi, Holmberg and McMann are 99% back. JT and Lorentz are at 50/50 depending on ask/money. Jarnkrok will probably stick around since he's OK, cheap enough and has little value to be traded. Robertson, Kampf and Reaves should be 100% gone.

Woll is an interesting question. On one hand, the team likely needs goaltending depth now more than ever with Marner leaving.
On the other, I feel another team may value him which could open up options for a traditional hockey trade. Otherwise the team is going to packaging Cowan or Danford with Florida's 2nd or the Leafs 27' 2nd and seeing what they can buy that way
I'll take him over Laughton.Kampf might be decent if he was making near league minimum. But he makes 2.4M for a 4th line center that doesn't really offer physicality or any intangibles. He's just a cardio merchant that kills penalties. He couldn't even get into the lineup in the playoffs. He needs to be punted ASAP.
Jarnkrok offers a bit more for cheaper, but he needs to be dumped too.
I'll take him over Laughton.
The dude gets caked with DZS and actually doesn't get caved.
Is he overpaid? Sure. But in the grand scheme of this team, paying Kampf an extra 750k or whatever isn't as big a deal.
You can have him.I'd take Laughton over him 110% of the time.
It's a pretty big deal when your 2.4M center can't play more than 12 minutes without being completely unplayable. Saving that cap space and putting it into a player that can be a difference maker would help a lot. You cannot pay your depth players that much. It's really not that hard to find a cheap efficient PKer.
You can have him.
With Kampf, it's not about being able to; he was hurt, and Berube was always going to play the guy Treliving traded for.
Because of their illnesses, he had no choice, and Holmberg is probably better than Laughton, so no issue there. He wasn't hurt well into the playoffs. He played game 5. The Leafs just played other people. They played Holmberg over him.
Jarkrok is the worst player on this team over 3 years in the playoffsKampf might be decent if he was making near league minimum. Domi was one of the team's brighter spots for me come playoff time. There probably isn't much to be gained significantly from parting with McMann either (cap space or trade assets). When I look at some of Woll's/the goaltending worst playoff performances, I also tend to notice an alarming lack of offence. Much of the offseason will obviously focus on the core and which members of it should and should not return.Quick hits....Marner is gone right? Not much debate?

Toronto isn't going to dismantle a team that just came in 4th place in the NHL. It's unrealistic, people are thinking with emotion and not logic right now. There might be changes & a big one, but they aren't going to gut the entire roster.I dunno if it can only be Cowan and Danford to be traded, but anytime to you target a top player from another it will take some good pieces and the Leafs are definitely depleted in good available assets.

Kampf should otherwise be a sensible option to move on from because he only suited up for one of the 13 playoff games. I just become hesitant at the potential thought of making moves at a loss in a cap world. Shame that Holmberg wasn't anything special in the playoffs though because I did appreciate Berube playing the younger option with theoretically more of an upside. He wasn't hurt well into the playoffs. He played game 5. The Leafs just played other people. They played Holmberg over him.
I can't believe anyone would keep Kampf. I'm blown away. He's the first that needs to be dumped ASAP.
He's good defensively and good on faceoffs and the PK.Kampf should otherwise be a sensible option to move on from because he only suited up for one of the 13 playoff games.
