If Rangers got Eichel and could keep Chytil out of it.. Zibanejad (if they can't afford him) to Vegas for Mars? He could play 2C or move into Buch's spot

This is about as good of an offer as you can make (without including Kakko) for a team to have to beat it (as long as said player is healthy)

From the Rangers POV, that's as far as I'd go too. I don't think Nils should get pulled into this wildcard of BS. Either keep him or use him in a more transparent and stabilized deal other than this drama fest.

It’s so hard to feel bad for Buffalo fans about the exodus that’s happening on their team when they say things like Fox (after winning the Norris two weeks ago mind you) is #2/3 defenseman and we’d need to add to him for Eichel

like what are we doing here? Lol

I have this ready for them when the actual return is announced.

Didn't an MMA fighter have the same surgery? Unless his opponents promised not to hit him in the head, that's seems pretty promising. I feel like we shouldn't talk about it like it's witchcraft.

It's still a gamble. Even if it worked for one pro athlete it doesn't mean it will work for Eichel. And with MMA fighters there is no investment of a huge chunk of your team's immediate future involved. That MMA dude is just a guy gambling on himself for money.

I'm out on Eichel because I believe he is injury prone. That neck is a chronic issue that will lead to side issues as the body compensates to protect the vulnerable part. It's likely Eichel got his neck injury partly because he was already playing through a core muscle injury which his body tried to protect. A fully healthy Eichel will always be a relative concept from here on out.

Except schneider likely moves into troubas spot in 2 years when he can be moved.
Kratsov is a top 6 forward with first line potential. He might be stuck on the 2nd line because Kakko had even higher upside.
Chytil was one of the best players on our team at 5v5 when healthy.
I get all of that, but from the Rangers standpoint if you can get a #1 center for guys who are not likely going to be in the top-6 or top-4 during your window, it makes sense. I wouldn't be surprised if Laf or Kreider move to RW anyway.

Not that much when he's demanding to be dealt & his NMC clause will kick in next summer. This is a giant clusterf*** that their GM seems to be overplaying his hand. Kakko will never be on the table.
He's very likely going to do exactly what the owner wants, which is hold out for a big return. When that doesn't happen, it wasn't his call. Even the bosses have bosses.

Except that young production on elc is what wins you cups… and those are guys who will give it.

Going to be very happy when we don’t trade for Eichel. I know the Eichel-Hawks will be on their third tissue box, but this is not the way

Just spit ballin...

Say we trade for Eichel.. What does Mika get us back in trade?

There's no way he can stay unless Trouba or Kreider is moved

This is one of the myriad of reasons I want nothing to do with Eichel. I think the front office would be way too tempted to self rent Zibanejad for one season in order to make the playoffs and we get nothing for him (unless we miss the playoffs which I think is pretty unlikely with those two as your top 6 C's).

This isn't the end of the world, there is a tipping point where you have too many assets to give them all proper breathing space. Chytil isn't ready to step in to a top 6 C role this coming year IMO, but the year after he probably would be.

Well, yeah - except if we trade for Eichel, there's a good chance Chytil is in Buffalo.

still a solid option to replace Buch. 3 years left at 5M which Rangers can afford for 3 years, playoff performer
The idea of buch leaving is to use cap on something other than wingers and open up opportunities for the young wingers we have. If you want to bring mars in to replace buch than just sign buch. Buch is a better player at this point bc of versatility
