What an embarrassing debut for ESPN. This coverage of the expansion draft is laughably bad. Fowler has no clue, it’s awkward as can be and they’ve managed to lose most credibility within the first 30 minutes.

Tough to love this one down!

I actually thought NBC did a decent job. I mean we all have fond memories of National Hockey Night and NHL 2nite and Thorne, Melrose, Panger, and the group, but the reality is that even then hockey was a second class citizen on the network. And as you said, ESPN with the "Embrace the Debate" is totally different and IMO completely unwatchable. Horrible channel treating hockey like it's nothing? Sure, it will be greeeeeat.

I hope TNT lets their guys shoot the shit like the NBA show, obviously it will take a bit to get chemistry, but hopefully it’s less stiff then what ESPN brings.

At least we'll know in a few more picks if they are announcing a Ranger trade.

This kind of gimiky stuff is what we will see more of I'm general presentation on ESPN. We may hate it but it's a way to try to attract new fans with a new presentation. Just shocked how bad the host is

I actually watched it for the first time the other day when I turned my TV and it was there from watching the Euro 2020 the day before. It was Steve Levy I believe and someone else and they both were 30 pounds heavier than I remember and had gray hair. In my mind it's still Rich Risen and Stu Scott, and I'm a kid watching replays of SportsCenter over and over in the morning.

yeah, I never had a problem with NBC. they had a few terrible announcers (Edzo, Milbury) but they did a good job and represented the sport well.
