lol at everyone who thought ESPN getting the NHL rights would be a good thing. i've seen it with other sports they got back after a long time off. they are not the same ESPN they were in the '90's, not even close. people are going to be dying for the NBC days.

I actually thought NBC did a decent job. I mean we all have fond memories of National Hockey Night and NHL 2nite and Thorne, Melrose, Panger, and the group, but the reality is that even then hockey was a second class citizen on the network. And as you said, ESPN with the "Embrace the Debate" is totally different and IMO completely unwatchable. Horrible channel treating hockey like it's nothing? Sure, it will be greeeeeat.

I actually watched it for the first time the other day when I turned my TV and it was there from watching the Euro 2020 the day before. It was Steve Levy I believe and someone else and they both were 30 pounds heavier than I remember and had gray hair. In my mind it's still Rich Risen and Stu Scott, and I'm a kid watching replays of SportsCenter over and over in the morning.
