Value of: Rossi to Flyers

Nobody calls a 2C a middle 6 guy. They have completely different values.

No idea why this keeps needing to be explained

Let's try this. Here's how lines work
LW - C - RW -- first line
LW - C - RW -- second line
LW - C - RW -- third line
LW - C - RW -- fourth line

So;
3 forwards
3 forwards
3 forwards
3 forwards

So that's 12 forwards. Now, if you were to add them, the second and third lines would be the 'middle 6'. That's how math works..........

Draisaitl is a middle 6 guy. Just math

Sorry to hurt you but please stop anyway. The "Rossi is a product of playing with Kaprizov" talking point has been debunked in every thread. You just look like a fool when you say it
Might want to do a better job at reading. Nothing has been debunked because it's true. Rossi is a 40-50 point guy without him. Rossi's production was heavily inflated playing with Kaprizov. He was around near PPG before Kaprizov went out in January. Then came back to earth as the 40-50 point guy he is.

If Rossi was on a different team, I probably wouldn't watch him enough to have an opinion on him (like you) and I probably wouldn't be in this thread spouting nonsense about a player I don't watch enough (like you)
You might watch him but you clearly don't know what you're watching if you think he's anything more than just a middle 6 guy. GMs agree with me. That's why Guerin is shopping him.

It hasn't stopped you in the past. Your takes on Fiala & Reinhart were laughable.

Too much derp. Didn't read.

lol. This place wouldn't exist if people weren't continuously bitching about their GMs f***ing up and doing stupid shit.

10 points per 82 games different, playing on a better team with a much better center. Heck of a "gotcha" you got yourself there.

First off, Kaprizov went out in December and then played 3 total games from January to April 9th. Second, you’re talking about Kaprizov like he actively participated in 40+ of Rossi’s 60 points. Let me show you why you are wrong.

By my count, Kaprizov played a part in 19 of Rossi’s 60 points. Kaprizov played half the season. One would think if he inflated Rossi’s numbers it would be more than 19 points participated in during his 41 games.

Don’t get me wrong, Rossi has flaws in his game, but playing offense is not one of them. Let’s not push the false narrative that Kaprizov inflated Rossi’s numbers. 👍

I’ve always read the term “middle 6 C” as a center who is a meh 2C but good 3C.

I use it to imply a guy who goes out and fills a checking role or a scoring role, depending on the opposing team, or as a necessity because the depth chart is wonky.

Maybe against a guy like McDavid you’d like a center who can be much more north south and checking, but then for some other teams you’d want the counter strike and east west play from them.

You are pummeling a person with an obvious learning disability and who is very likely developmentally handicapped. That is not nice mister

Did you not even read my comment? You're agreeing with me lol. Rossi was a 40 point guy without Kaprizov. Rossi with Kaprizov was on pace for far higher PPG. Don't you remember when he had 44 points in 50 games? So yes Rossi had inflated production playing with him. He's 40-50 point guy without him. If Kaprizov didn't get hurt he'd have more than 60 points.

And why did you choose 50 games as your arbitrary cutoff? That speaks volumes to how twisted this is in your head.

I literally just showed you that over 2/3 of Rossi’s points are not tied to Kaprizov at all. Period. Full stop. You’ve done nothing to prove that Kaprizov is inflating his numbers except use a generic ppg number that doesn’t actually show that Rossi’s ppg is inflated by Kaprizov.

That’d be fun to watch no lie
Fun to watch until those small guys started to get injured. Rossi isn’t a marshmallow. He plays hard and goes to hard areas. Thats, of course, a plus. But He’s small. At some point, if the whole forward group is small, physics will just apply.

Hard to hit what you can’t catch 🤣 I feel like that roster would score a lot in the reg season…

Would be a fun roster, that’s for sure. And the league can force players to wear the old dull tube skates and play of old time soft ice, when the heavier guys were rare because it was next to impossible for them to keep up.
The equipment now favours the heavier players. Not saying that’s a good thing. It’s just how things have evolved.

To be clear, I'm offering this in the context of "Guerin might like this". I'm well aware that Minnesota fans don't always see eye to eye with what their GM wants to do.

Couturier + Foerster + pick
for
Rossi + Hartman

Minnesota gets bigger both short-term and long-term, but gives up the highest potential player and takes on a bit of a risky contract (Couturier 5 years). Everything I've read about Guerin as a GM suggests to me that he's the kind of GM that would want Couturier, even with the 5 year contract term.
Centers = Eriksson Ek + Couturier + Gaudreau

Philadelphia gets the highest potential young guy, brings in a tough veteran to offset the loss of Couturier, and walks away from Couturier's 5 year contract. They lose a bit of size and will now (or very soon) begin relying on Jett Luchanko to bring defensive responsibility and penalty killing to the center position. Hartman plays center sometimes, so they can rely on him until Luchanko is ready.
Centers = Rossi + Cates + ( Hartman / Luchanko )

Coming down the pipeline at the center position... In addition to Luchanko, the Flyers could be drafting a center at 6th overall. Likely Frondell, Desnoyers or maybe even O'Brien. Minnesota has, well, not too much coming at center as far as I know. Yurov is an impressive prospect, but it's unclear to me if he will be playing center in the NHL or winger. I'm assuming winger. Maybe they'll use 52nd overall to draft a center.
