You can blame Lundqvist on that 4th goal all you want but this team is so unbelievably bad when down a goal late in games. Lose Faceoff, chase puck back into their zone, repeat. Pretty much a minor miracle they were able to score late vs Phoenix.

Barely created anything the 2nd half of that third period and it's time for Nash and St Louis to start leading this offense. When the 4th line continues to be your best chance at scoring, there's something wrong.

So.....this is the first game i have watched in entirety, from start to finish, without it being DVR'd in over 4 months........guess that wont be happening again.

2.5 hours of my life wasted on a **** team losing to a ******** team.

Back to watching on the DVR and at the very least, turning a 2.5 hour crap-fest into and 1.25 hour ordeal......

This game goes solely on Lundqvist's $7 million shoulders. This Marty and Nash combo is reminding me more and more of Stoudemire and Anthony. No defense, no killer instinct, both puckhogs/ they need the puck on their stick. MSL has considerably slowed down. Next season will hopefully be his last and this was a fleecing.

MSL is crap. This is just not acceptable. Only the ****ing Rangers can get last year's Art Ross winner, and have him become neutralized completely.

**** this.

This is actually scary, seems like we could trade for Crosby + Ovechkin and they would amount to Kevin Stevens

Yeah, we seem to have killed a league treasure and MVP. Maybe he's riding out the karma train after acting like a baby about the olympics. Who knows. But Zuccarello is goalless over a longer stretch and we've been winning games despite them. That;s a **** goal to lose a game on.

We lost because Ramo was much better than Hank. I don't trust Hank anymore. I don't care how well he appears to have been playing. There's just too much net available because he's so deep and his quickness has fallen off. And since he can't stop a breakaway we cannot allow any. Give me Talbot on Sunday cause I feel sick losing this game with the way we played. Just friggin' horrible.

Hank blew it on the 4th goal. The fact that we couldn't score a single goal after that was equally pathetic. Defense looked like absolute garbage. Once AGAIN the 4th line is our best line. Once AGAIN MSL doesn't do ****ing anything.

Defensive coverage was not good enough, especially on those 2nd and 4th goals. Rangers better play a complete game in Edmonton

Defensive coverage on the 4th goal??? Go to sleep. Hank has to stop that 100 out of 100 times; period.

Ever since MSL showed up Zuccarello sucks and the powerplay sucks. I'm blaming MSL.

You can't expect to make the playoffs and lose to **** teams like Calgary. Edmonton won't be easy either. I'm sick of the no shows from Nash and MSL. The 4th line can't be our best line every game. Zuke sucks, the pp is Torts bad. The only way this team makes noise is if Nash, MSL and Lundqvist carry the team; along with a dangerous pp and ever since the MSL the pp has been dog ****

The ice was **** too. For a building that does nothing, they should really have good ice for the full 60.

St. Louis was fine tonight...didn't score but had several chances and set up a few nice ones...the penalty call at the end was a joke.

The bigger issues were defensive zone coverage and Lundqvist.
On the first goal Stepan just backed off like 5+ feet and let him just walk on in.
Second goal both Girardi and McDonagh hung back and let Giordano skate right in the middle
Third guy we somehow had four guys in the same spot in the corner of the ice by the goal line.
Fourth goal was one of the softest we have given up all year.

You can blame Lundqvist on that 4th goal all you want but this team is so unbelievably bad when down a goal late in games. Lose Faceoff, chase puck back into their zone, repeat. Pretty much a minor miracle they were able to score late vs Phoenix.

The reason why we lose all the faceoffs in this spot is because our coach uses our worst centers at faceoffs in this situation. Stepan and Brassard are both horrible on draws. Richards is ok. Any offensive zone faceoff down 1 at the end of the game has to have Moore or Boyle out solely for the faceoff as they are significantly better at this than anyone else on the team.

I love how Lundqvist has one off game and someone is already calling for Talbot. As if Lundqvist hasn't helped this team get back into the playoff picture and wasn't one of, if not the biggest reason for the five game winning streak.

Good: Nash, Richards, Stepan, 4th Line (AGAIN!)
Bad: Lundqvist, McDonagh, Girardi
Redden: St. Louis

I'm beginning to think Tampa Bay fleeced us in that deal. St. Louis has 0 goals in 13 games with us, and takes a costly penalty at the end of the game. If you're not producing, you better not take untimely penalties. And I don't care if he generates chances, he hasn't produced. He's been a passenger here. St. Louis needs to step up or be called out. 13 games is long enough to adapt to the point that you can at least put one puck in the net. Unacceptable for an "elite" world class player who just won the Art Ross and was on pace for 82 points when he got here.

Lundqvist's first off game in a while. The 4th goal was downright awful. He absolutely needs to stop that. And I'm sure he knows it, as his attitude after the goal was evident.

McDonagh and Girardi were downright poor on two of the goals. I still can't believe they let Giordano just walk right in and give him all of the time in the world. It was a game they certainly weren't on, and it was part of the reason the team lost.

It shows you how much this teams success is contingent upon that McDonagh/Girardi pairing playing upper echelon minutes, and Lundqvist shutting the door.

This is the first time that both Girardi/McDonagh played poorly and Lundqvist played poorly in a while. Bad combination. Lead to four goals and a loss.

The big trade at the deadline and they are no better. They are just without 2 high draft picks in the future for an old guy who, when not playing with Stamkos, is showing his age. really, he is contributing nothing, and tonight contributed less than nothing taking an offensive zone penalty in the last 2 minutes. Really, St. Louis is a bust. The excellent play of the 4th line has masked his failure, and the lack of contribution from Zucc as well. Yzerman is laughing his arse off. he got rid of a malcontent, and got Callahan as a rental and 2 high picks.

What is this game 25 on the season that we lost because we got out-goaltended? Looks like he stopped playing on that 4th goal. He's a disgrace of a goalie sometimes.

This is ****ing idiotic. Did you miss all the ****ing point blank saves he made earlier in the game when we had like zero coverage between the circles or the **** back check by the forwards half the game? The entire team showed up for about 15 total minutes of the 60, but it's ALL on the goalie?

Maybe it was a little more upbeat watching the MSG feed, but I felt like I was attending a funeral watching the Flames feed and their crowd, I was wondering out loud how the players could even muster any effort playing in such a sleepy environment, kind of showed on the ice too.

Brassard has been great for us this year. One bad game I can live with. MSL on the other hand is pathetic.

He's been great, and then gone, then great, then gone.

I think he'd be better served being flipped for someone with a little more testosterone to his game, but he's not what's going to kill this team.

Honestly, after the last 5 games, I'm willing to grant Hank a stinker. 1. One.

If we turn around and win our next 2, this game becomes more palatable. We weren't going to win out, and frankly 5 in a row is well above this team's caliber.

The only solace I found in Callahan being traded was that MSL is such a revered player, someone that can star-power his way through wins single-handedly, and known for being a fan-favorite.

Now I have nothing. Except McDeity.
