This is divine retribution for coaching staff's decisions. We deserve this and this will not stop until we repent. Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor, yet we bore false witness twice trying to cover up Zucc's injury severity, played him, injured him, and called it precautionary despite holding him out for a week when we're desperate for forwards. They did this twice in a trade year for Zucc and since then we've been punished gravely. Thou shall not covet yet the coaching staff coveted Staal and thou shall not worship false idols and yet they worshiped him as a false idol. Thou shall not steal yet we stole valuable minutes by benching DeAngelo. Thou shall not take the Lord's name in vain and yet we took our Lord and Savior in vain and were shutout in front of him twice in three games. This is our 7 days of toads and blood sucking flies. Oh Jeff, son of Lamech, there is not enough time, forsake the sinned and the lost and let the flood take them away. Bring aboard your ark a pair of young promising D, a pair of 1st round prospects, one forward and one defense, and a pair of Chads and start anew after the flood wipes everything away.

You miss Zucc? :DD

It's been his own decision when to play or not, and now he's decided to take a couple of weeks off to get rid of this groin issue.

I think he meant in the defensive zone like that. Because Pionk usually just banks the puck off the boards instead of passing it out (I love Pionk obviously, and hate that he does that).

Then again, good offensive d-men usually have lots of giveaways and turnovers.
If Pionk does that trying to make offense, I'm actually ok with that.

It's the shit around the boards that's going nowhere anyway that drives me nuts.

All I'm saying is, Valiquette should know better. He's a numbers guy.

Mika is on a 70 pt pace playing with 4th liners and the staff playing him on the wrong circle for a month on the PP. imagine if you surround that guy with talent. What would he do with Panarin next to him?

Which is why you keep him and move Hayes. Mika’s seen his ice time increase this year, and his production has skyrocketed. And now he’s doing it with a Jesper Fast leg-chain.

FWIW, he is not the most egregious NYR player in giveaways this season. #4 among D, with ADA/Skjei/Smith ahead of him. T-10th overall.

But yeah...not great Vally.
He knows, too. That's what gets me.

Valiquette is the worst kind of stats guy. He's totally selective. He'll beat you over the head with them when it proves his preconceived notion, but he'll discard them in a second if it's not what he wants to think.

And a MSG employee. He has a job to keep.

Absolutely.

That's how a guy like Laine who has zero above average ability outside of his shot is an elite player.
I disagree. Laine has plenty of hockey sense, I would say. To score that much, you need to be smart as well.

And remember Brandon Pirri? Great shot, below average at everything else. I don’t think you can be elite in hockey if you are only good at one thing and average at everything else. I mean, it’s possible, but rare.

Bridged Jimbo when we should have gone steady with him and got it the other way around with Skjei.

Yea, I agree with you for the most part. Drives me nuts as well.

While I understand the criticism, ADA got scratched for being angry and dumb lol

IheartADA:Umm why ADA be scratched 4 nothing?

Buchnevich89: Well he was scratched for several poor decisions and some attitude stuff. He was also scratched before this game, so he can’t be unscratched tonight because someone is playing bad right now.

IheartADA: U juz like AV...

ADA’smom likes this

Speaking of Laine, and speaking of analytics, the dude scores a goal per game and has the worst goal differential on the Jets. That's almost impossible. Like, how bad do you have to be defensively?

Even if we end up closing the gap (we won’t), it still won’t change the trend of me re-developing PTSD every time the Rangers play Montreal on Saturday nights.
