I'm sitting in the upper level for the game I'm going to in October, I just hope that I'm not stuck with all the crappy concessions. I hope it's easy enough to get around to the good stuff.

No you should be good. from what I know, premium food on all levels. You can basically be contained on your level too. There shouldn't be a need to come down to the main concourse like Rexall.

The former mayor who was behind the vote in on inside sp[orts is a pretty funny guy--He got an invite--but hopes those who voted against are not invited--names no one--but was funny

The tickets sold out in 80 minutes

19,000 tickets were snatched up in the first 80 minutes on August 29.
It took another 2 to 3 days to get up to approximately 50,000 and they released even more tickets on August 31.

All the levels have A offerings and all are supposed to be much better than that provided at Rexall.

As I understand it to this point though is that going to the different levels is discouraged in the new facility. You basically have access to your level primarily. Also, if you are in upper level you can't walk down to the concessions, you have to walk up to the top concessions. That's how it works in the new rink. You could be in first row of upper bowl and you still have to walk up to get to concessions and washrooms. Its why some people think the drinkrails are the most convenient in the arena for getting to concessions, washrooms.

People will have a lot of adjustments to make in new arena. Quite a lot that is apparently different.

How pathetic, still trying to silence any and all dissent.

only because the battle was fought and lost.

It was a slow few days at work so I listened to one ched call in shows and there are still people saying Northlands should run the arena

For me this moves the city forward. I know some disagree with me, but I spent nearly 20 years in Edmonton and progressive thinking was not the cities strong point. He made a point that I agreed with, that many people are stuck in the 1950's approach to Edmonton and they want to keep the city small--the city has not been small since the late 60's when the population officially crossed 400k. The latest stat Can reports have the city at nearly 1 mill-Edmonton is no longer a small, hick country town or boom town--growing cities do stuff when they grow.

I personally think the transit is still screwed up--but that is a debate for another day.

The city of Edmonton needed a new Arena. The Arena did not cost tax payers as much as some state.

The area where they built the arena is being revitalized.

Northlands corporation served its need back in the day--the entire northlands area should now be bull dozed and low income house in built there. Northland is a non profit organization and all that lovely land-a lot of low income houseing could be built there

Talbot will be the first oiler to get a tour of the new dressing room tomorrow. Can't wait for the video.

Post or take pics? There is a big difference. I'm intending to do both.

When I did the tour, we were notify not to post any pictures, and that they keep an eye out for it. That was back in August, so they could've changed their stance. I would imagine McHillman could clarify this.

They havent. As of saturday they were asking pictures not to be posted. Im sure this will be different when the public tours happen. But who knows.

Thanks for the photos, looking good! Hard to believe the open house is almost here, it's been such a long road.

I'm hearing the Oilers locker room is unreal, can't wait to see some photos of it.

Man I am looking forward to the food there too, I hope it turns out to be as good as it sounds. Going to need to ramp up my workout routine during the Oilers season

Wow, that food looks awesome!

And with a beer it will only cost $34.99 ;)

Curious what parking is gonna be....going to Seattle for the Jays in a couple weeks and to park at CenturyLink Garage (a parking garage across the street from Safeco) is $30 a game.

It's even worse on Seahawks game days, are you staying downtown anywhere? it's a pretty tame walk. Either that or I'd maybe look at parking closer to one of the Light Link stations and take the train to the station nearest the stadiums (tickets are $2-$3)

Gonna likely stay in Bellevue. We stayed at the Hyatt before and my wife really enjoyed it there....plus there is the mall. Already paid for the parking as there will be my wife (complete basket case when out of her comfort zone lol), 2 year old and the MIL so I figured I need a vehicle "pseudo-close".

Now the only question, will my RAM2500 mega-cab fit in there lol Read about the height clearanced and I should fit....might have to drain my bags (air bags in the truck...dirty minds! ;) ) just to make sure I am clear.

Looks like a pretty good menu. I gotta do some research and figure out the whole arena, and what Im going to get where in the lower bowl for my season tickets.

A previous article on food options.

http://www.rogersplace.com/a-taste-of-rogers-place/

Lots of comments in the article requesting vegan and gluten free fare. Really hope they heed those as theres certainly a growing segment of people wanting different options provided.

I'm celiac myself so no choice really.

The pictures of the menu items look good, but a lot of people can't or don't eat those options.

In anycase a solid shift away from the standard ballpark garbage offerrings.

kudos to Aramark taking this new places. Firm that has operated locally forever does well. good stuff
