You saying the 19yo needs to become more mature and show respect for his elders is ironic considering your going up to bat for a 54yo JR who you admit says whatever he wants, no filters.

So you want the 19yo to act like the adult here? Not the guy who is nearly 3 times older? One of these guys does need to be more mature, but it's not who you think it is.
Well Shaft I imagine most all of us could use some maturation in some ways regardless of our age :). I don't imagine CB or JR are losing any sleep over this nor am I. My only reason to post at all was to comment on the strong negative response of the Hawks fans on this board. I mean we all know JR can be a loose canon but as a hockey player he was an awesome Hawk and should have remained one much longer if not for $Bill.

I love the nickname of "the moth" JR acquired in his Philly days...because every time there was a camera light turned on in the lockerroom, he would migrate to it. Pretty much sums JR up and this whole nonstory is more JR's ego than any reality.

Wow I'm honestly surprised by the vitriol towards JR in this thread.
Love him or more frequently hate him ( apparently ) JR is an unabashed communicator of how he feels in the moment with no filters. I found his HOF acceptance speech to be quite honest and entertaining and here we have him expressing his honest opinion yet again. This just looks like the old guard mentality of the young need to show respect to the elders or those who have come before. Not such a biggy really. Bedard does need to mature and learn as any 19 year old does and our current generation of youth perhaps need this as much or maybe even more than any before them given the different world in which they are living in. How about we give JR and Bedard a little wiggle room to be who they are and let things find their way without adding any further negativity to an already overly saturated world of such. My 2 c.
If JR is old school you don't put this shit out for the world to see. He put Bedard in a spot where he's gotta answer questions about not approaching a guy who hasn't played for the team in thirty years while Bedard is focusing on trying to win a hockey game instead of playing grab ass politics.

It wasn’t necessary to call him out in the media. With JR’s track record it comes off as another egotistical whining of his.

Why? He's an asshole, and always has been an asshole.

Dude's head outgrew his status.

The other night when they had JR on during the game and all he talked about was how he created rules in the game and his broken jaw.. - reminded me of a HS reunion where that one guy who peaked in high-school wouldn't shut the f*** up about his glory days.
