Awww f***. Really sorry to read about this. I saw the article on CBC first and it took me by surprise. I didn't get the impression things were going poorly in recent months.

Amirov's agent is saying interesting things in Russian media.

He said Dubas tried to fulfill Amirov's dream of playing in the NHL.
Dubas was in coordination with the Senators trying to get Amirov on the ice during a pre-season game back when Amirov visited Toronto in Oct of 2022. Sadly Amirov just didnt have the strength to skate at that point.

Toronto doctors gave him 6 months to live when he left Toronto.
For the next 10 months Amirov received treatment at the MIMC in Moscow. Two weeks ago things went downhill fast and he was taken to Germany for some last chance treatment. :(

The kid was a fighter.
Enjoy playing the game you love up in the stars, Rodik.

Sometimes I just hate life

f***, religious or not religious, young or old, male or female we all end up dead.

Seeing a youg dude like Amirov dying is just heart breaking, terrifying and eye opening.

No matter how much we humans evolve and grow these tradegies still continue to happen.

Praying for Amirov and his family

Heartbreaking for their family. A real shame he wasn't able to play in any pre-season games last year. Really hope they do a moment of silence at the beginning of the season. Would a small patch on the jerseys be too much?

Just horrific. Brain cancer is a horrific disease. I had a friend pass away from it after being diagnosed in his mid-20's, beating it once, and then it came in his early 30's. So, I was a bit pessimistic about him ever coming back to hockey, but all I was hoping for was he could get into long-term remission and eventually be deemed cancer free. Unfortunately, his life was taken way too soon. Feel terrible for his friends and family.
