I am, thank you for checking in. I appreciate it.

Metsa and Jandric are on AHL contracts so they're not technically ours. They could become ours...but not technically ours.

I know @Gabrielor keeps track of this, so I'll ask -- who else is signed to Rochester to play D next year?

This came up in the Johnson thread but I didn't wanna derail. Can players on an AHL deal with one team's farm club sign NHL deals with another team, or must they wait for their AHL contracts to expire?

You would think that the AHL team would have to agree to mutually dissolve the contract first. But I don’t know the rule. Feels like that’s how it should be though.

Is Jandric top 6 next season? Or is he an ECHL callup?

With him being LD and now both Johnson and Novikov signed, I would think he's further down the depth chart... but many things are possible. I'd still like to set a vet type LD brought in or retained out of the current group. They had 16 different defensemen dress for at least one game with the Amerks this year, 10 have played at least 10 games (Metsa will make 11 tonight if he is as expected in the lineup). There will be opportunities. I liked his game at NoDak, perhaps almost as much as Metsa so it'll be interesting to see what camp brings.

XXXX - Prow
Johnson - Metsa
Novikov - XXXX
Jandric - XXXX

Eliot and Tischke have been around for a bit in depth roles. Strand was outscored at ES by a lot both in SD and Rochester - I would think Cecconi would be a more interesting depth move for RD with the local ties and how well he's done in a shutdown role with Davies. Cecconi in all situations was on for 34 GF, 35 GA; 31/28 at 5-on-5 in the regular season and is part of why they look a lot better in their own zone now. Cecconi in the playoffs is at 10 GF/5 GA at ES and 13/8 in all situations. If they can get that sort of shutdown ability for another year, I'd be happy about it.

I went to some Calder Cup games back in the 1990's for the Amerks - including sitting on the old part of the stage that they sold as full price tickets that were folding chairs (the night Melanson destroyed Zednik with a hit). I love going to games there and while I've seen the Sabres in five different cities, the Amerks are the only team I've been rooting for where I was asked to leave (Broome County arena in 1989). IIRC, that was the game Kevin Kerr bit one of the Binghamton players (he was the crazy one on the line with Metcalfe at center and Ray on the other wing).

f***ing hell. Kea might be worse than JST.

Not might. JST usually seems like he's trying hard to prove that he holds no favoritism toward the Amerks. Kea? He has been the one they've regularly had the most problems with. I wonder if Apps is taking a fine tonight.
