Rochester Americans and Jacksonville Icemen 2024 Season Thread.

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Interesting that Brannstrom has slotted into RD opposite Clague, Komarov shifts down to RD with Novikov, Johnson-Rathbone remain the same.

Metsa getting a rest, haven't looked into if it is anything more than a night off.

Some observations:

Ostlund can fly.
Brannstrom has looked dangerous every shift
Komorov and Novikov are giants.
The last PP, still going, looked really good.
Genny cream is ice cold and going down nicely.

Did not realize that Assman and Poolparty played for the Checkers.

Leonard makes it 2-1 Charlotte. Bleh.

I have turned this back on and the disappointment that is the Sabres game off.

Charlotte scores into an empty net. 4-2 with 2:11 left.

Full marks to the PA crew going with The Waterboys "Whole of the Moon", one of my all time favorite songs.

Amerks won 4-3 in a shootout. Brannstrom scored his third goal for Rochester, also picked up an assist on Rosen's GTG.

Yesterday was the AHL trade deadline and they sent Tullio to the Wranglers.

Jax lost in Orlando 4-1.

Went to the game last night. Brannstrom is real good at least at the AHL level. Ostlund and Rosen both had strong games. Ostlund’s passing and hockey IQ is great. Rosen has a Kucherov style to his game.

@Chainshot Chainm do you see Brannstrom getting a few games up to see how he might look here ? I think he's friend with 26.

They played together at the U20's and I remember some casuals in B'lo thinking Brannstrom was Dahlin because he was the rover of the pair. As to if he gets a look, I don't know. I have no insight into what their plan is now and for the future. Brannstrom has been a nice add, especially with Metsa out with the crud.

Jax won last night, 5-2 over visiting Savannah. Laaouan has climbed to 9th in defense scoring in the league, Nadeau up to 1.11 points per game and is second on the team in scoring despite only playing 37 games so far. Close is now 4th in SV% and 5th in GAA . For comparison, Vernon is 29th in GAA and 22nd in SV%.

How was his defense specifically?
