I mean he wasn't the right guy for Buffalo, I said he wouldn't be all the way back then but that doesn't mean he's a bad goalie.

I think if you put him on Edmonton or Toronto he'd be great, assuming his mental issues don't get to him.
Leafs fans would eat him alive

Dadonov and Lehner for M.Murray and Michael Del Zotto.

Vegas sheds $1.75 million in cap, moves out guys that are presumably headaches (At least under DeBoer).

Murray can also be bought out and his cap hit over the next 4 years would be (1.75M, 750K, 2.5M, 2.5M), opening up even more flexibility for a team with deep pocketed owners.

This really only works in a world where Lehner has 0 value, not sure I'd say where there quite yet, but the goalie market is always soft so who knows.

I was never really that high on Lehner. It's hard to guess his value. He's turning 31 this season and has about 1 season under his belt where I thought he was a top 10 goalie.

Islanders were a near bottom corsi team that season (although you can argue that might be irrelevant based on how they perform and still give up the low danger shots), but Lehner was fantastic that season. 3 more years at 5 million should have some teams interested but it's hard to guess what they will give up for that.

I don't think Vegas gets much they have to dump some money and teams know it n

Iceland II the hotter crappier version.
I don't think Lehner is the right goalie for our team, and I also believe with the emotional toddlers that make up part of our team, is probably not the best place for him to be him be anyway, Should we move him, and I think we should I wish him the best, I like the guy, he just doesn't move fast enough to cover for our defensive blunders we never seem to learn from.

I didn't say they were but he's still more valuable than Matt Murray.

Matt Murray has fallen completely off the map

If they both have negative value there’s no huge difference in trade value.

Murray is a 2 year cap dump with a higher cap hit and Lehner a 3 year cap dump with lighter cap hit

Dude was right to torch Buffalo. He saw the same issues with the team as we Sabres fans did. Of course, had they made smart hiring decisions, it’d be a different story.

Regardless, I’d still take him back with Buffalo, but only if Vegas adds Whitecloud to him. And that’s not happening.

Yeah, that'd be a hard pass from me. I didn't like Lehner when he was here. I like him even less now.

I wouldn't claim him off waivers. He's an absolute headcase and has the lateral movement of a beer league goalie, and it's only getting worse as he gains weight. $5m isn't the worst cap hit but it's still a large chunk of change for a goalie with that many problems
Dude should be a linebacker instead of a goalie. He's trying to get sumo big so he can just lie down and block most of the net.

Oilers will pass for the following reason

1) cap space .The Oilers need dollars out for dollars in . Vegas is over the cap the need to move money out
2) Health concerns . With 7 years of McDavid with no deep playoff runs . We need to hit a home run when we add a goalie
3) I still don't see Vegas trading him with in the division .

I think he is a better fit in Arizona . Him and fat Phil Kessel can do the buffet together

Bet he ends up in NJ. They’ve had major issues between the pipes the past couple years. And it’s a quiet market per se, so probably a good fit for lehner as well.
He would be a nice upgrade but his injury history scares me too much . Devils already have two goalies that have very questionable injuries where we don’t know if they will bounce back ( Blackwood - foot/ankle Bernier - hip ) . Last two seasons have been a disaster in net . Devils cannot afford to take the risk of acquiring yet another goalie with injury question marks .
I also feel he plays a style that will not age well at all . His size , injury history , style he plays all makes me think when he declines , it will be ugly and in a hurry

5 million for a career .917 is cheap as it gets.

The fans? Hell, the press pressure would be terrible. I can't see it.
I don't disagree, it would get bad the moment he struggled but regardless of what happens with Campbell they can't bring back Marazek.

So the Leafs will be in the market for a goalie that makes them a logical landing spot

In the market but it seems like a bad fit.

it is absolutely a risky fit that's why I've never been for it when there were rumors of it a year ago.

That doesn't mean I can't see it happening.

I can, and it has the potenial to either be great, because I do believe he's a good goalie and a good golie on this team would make this team unstoppable with the way they score.

But it also has the potenial to go very very bad very very quickly.

His mental issues + The media + the fans = a potenally BAD mix

Isn't Toronto one of the most mental health conscious cities in the league?

Bell(TSN) let's talk, Rogers has their own, and I've seen a bunch of mental health awareness across the GTA. If anything he'd thrive here more than most cities.

Anyways I think the coach is fired first, that's what they go to first.

I'm not talking about that I'm talking about the fans and media that would tear him apart the second he starts to struggle and you know we would.

if you don't think that could get to somebody with mental health issues I assure you, you are wrong

I think you are reading *a lot* into a pretty generic answer from the coach.

I've watched sports long enough to read between the lines if there was no issue he'd say "he's a big part of the team and he want him back as soon as possible." something like that

Just a reminder that he has an 8 team NTC. Could be worse to work around but I’m guessing he’s not going to AZ.
