I can see that, but I'm not sure that this team can afford to take the less pressure route with anything at this point. They have to man up. And, given that Tre argued for more 'snot' this year, perhaps Bert playing with Domi sparks one or both to offer more than they have to this point?

I'm still reeling from the Liljegren non-response game. I have little or no expectation of either of our top 2 lines bringing the 'jam'. They'll lead by skill. Line three needs to be better defined, and perhaps throwing Bert and Domi together lights a spark under one or both of their asses. If they can provide a little of that P&V Brad T talked about pre-season, and can play off each other in the O zone...well, at least Kamph is back on the 4th line.

Domi in between two shooters in Robertson and Jarnkrok who can both keep up in terms of skating on paper looks like a match. The bigger question may not be will they produce, but can they prevent more than they let in.

Yeah a 3rd line that can’t defend very well would be fine if we had a 4th line that could. You could hide and shelter them a bit with heavy offensive zone starts.
But with Reeves on the 4th line you can’t give the heavy defensive zone starts. Forcing the first 2 lines to take those defensive zone starts which is far from ideal

I hope Domi doesn't keep icing the puck, because that line will see an insane amount of top lines if they do. Same for the fourth line really.

Can't see Robertson doing much in the bigs but I sincerely hope he proves me wrong. He does work hard so deserves the shot. Domi at center should help at least pretend there's a chance to score over Kampf.

I think I disagree. The D is an ongoing work in progress. It needs to be fixed now, in the near future, and at the trade deadline.

One thing to be seen is whether Bundy is quick to own up to his mistakes and ship them out like Dubas did

I would take him off the PP or run him on 2PP unit - Rielly has been superior. His skating his gotten better since the start of the season, it's not that bad, probably could use him less for sure. But my question was more in terms of a trade, what should/can we trade for to fix the D?

At this point, I’d trade him for the cap space. He might still come around, but I doubt it. Tre’s tenure hasn’t started too well, that’s for damn sure……

Lots of forward pieces for him to work off of to put up points.

Not a fan of his game overall so preferably he jacks up his trade value and we can trade for some much needed defence.

At this point, I’d love to call up a bunch of Marlies and sit Bertuzzi, Domi, REAVES, and Klingberg.

It’s an absolute they will play with more heart and hustle than these guys.

Would like to see Robertson actually put into a position to succeed and play him on one of the top 2 lines to see if he can produce. Putting him in the bottom 6 that's already not producing is pretty much setting him up for failure.

Would like to see Marner and Matthews split up and see something like:

Knies Matthews Nylander
Robertson Tavares Marner
Bertuzzi Holmberg Jarnkrok
Gregor Kampf Domi

Maybe that 3rd line can bring some energy and scoring

I disagree, the leafs will score plenty of goals this year, the difference will be how many they give up.

Scoring 400 goals while giving up 380 isn’t as good as scoring 300 but only giving up 200
