On June 18, 2010, Blake announced his final retirement from professional hockey.[5] During a Los Angeles Kings telecast (on 3/3/11), Blake discussed his post-playing career as a Hockey Operations Manager for the NHL, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. "This job kind of developed over the summer (of 2010) in talking with Brendan Shanahan. I played for awhile in the NHL (20 years). As a former player, I can provide the league with some insight in various aspects of the game. I was able to stay on the West Coast (and commute to Toronto for work), so it worked out really well," Blake said. "I watch the game much differently now, just because I've been in Toronto, in the war room. Now, I watch the game and see the calls that are made as well as the ones which weren't but should have been. Before, I just looked at the score and see what happened in the game," Blake noted. "I'm also going to help out in the selection process for Team Canada for the upcoming World Championships," Blake said

Yes, I can see the conversation now, on Blake's first day.

Blake: "Dean, what are my responsibilities as AGM?"
Dean: "Rob, just go sit in that corner and keep your mouth shut. I don't want to hear a word from you all season long. You do that, and we will get along just fine."

I'm not going to let a "who cares" appointment to this clown ruin my love for the Kings. I ain't thrilled about it, if it comes down, but its not the end of the world. AGM doesn't carry any weight anyway...he does what the GM tells him to do, including cleaning the toilets if it comes to that.

I sure hope more STHs think the way you do, then my Select-A-Seat appointment a week from now won't be a total waste of time.

I completely agree. Futa are Yanetti are much better choices. Blake has paid zero, nada, nothing in the way of dues to earn the position of assistant GM.

Not Helen still thinks that anything having to do with the Gretzky-era was the greatest thing ever.
 
This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. It's obvious, Luc and DL have a hard-on for Blake for whatever reason. It's only a matter of time before the fans start forgiving Blake for his past and eventually retire his jersey.

I'm actually ok with this

Blame the ******* who is now in Toronto for how he left the Kings. I wasn't very fond of his second stint here either, but then again, the team was garbage and coached by an idiot behind the bench and didn't have any goalies capable of stopping the puck.

This is assuming they wanted to be promoted. Not all guys seek promotion, and those two have done very well in their current roles.

As for the rumour, that's all it is, a rumour. Until it becomes real, I have no opinion.

Tigermask is actually a very sound poster. You really should get to know the posters on here before trying to start an argument.
 
Well, I figure DL has done pretty well by this team so far and I trust his judgment a lot more than a lot of fans, who never see what goes on behind closed doors and yet, think they know everything that should and should not happen with the Kings.
Go for it Deano, whatever.
