That said, I know Risto has been a running joke for a decade but he’s been pretty damn solid in real top four minutes. I’m not sure it’s fair calling him a bottom pair defenseman anymore than it is/was calling Zadorov a bottom pair guy at this time last year. When you are playing 20:30 per night with heavy physicality and also contributing in an overall positive manner…you are gonna draw eyes.

I think his play has squarely outpaced his reputation for some time in Philly now. RR isn’t a joke player anymore.
