That's the correct price for a D-man on a fair contract for years remaining. He will be a beast in the playoffs for whoever gets him.

This place is usually at least a season behind in terms of how it values players vs actual performance - but when you’ve been a running joke / disappointment like Risto has been for so long, no amount of seasons improving and playing well will chase away those initial snarky reactions and perceptions…unless you can throw up some easy counting stats that people will actually react to.

Yes, he's actually having best season in his tenure on the Flyers, rightfully playing as a top 4 dman, not bottom pair, so I am not all surprised that the price is currently high.

He's been a lot better in Philly, like a whole lot better. Also, why isn't Andrae in the NHL? His underlying stats were really good when he was up and he was only slightly sheltered. Risto plays the 3rd hardest minutes amonst defenders on the Flyers, but he still only plays 16 minutes per game. I think he would be good in a 2nd pair role. I think the price is fair.
