Iconic voice. Our childhoods are getting old...
My favourite call - game 3 of the 1990 playoffs, Leafs down 2 games to 0 to the Blues, having lost both games in St Loo, even though I believe we won the season series 7-0-1....desperation time, and the Leafs were down 5-3 with 3 minutes to go in the third.......Ramage scores to make it 5-4, and then Fergus tied it with just over a minute to go......me and my buddy were in last row greys. I am not kidding, I had never heard the Gardens or subsequently the ACC as loud as when Fergus tied it. We sat beside someone we thought was legitimately homeless all game, and when Fergus tied it, the three of us were hugging in a circle and jumping up and down for a long but super sweet minute. (in typical leaf fashion they lost on a horrific overtime goal by sergio momesso). But Morris' call still rings as clear to me now as it did then (and I had taped the game and watched it dozens of times since)....
"Toronto goal scored by number 19 Tom Fergus. Assisted by number 11 Gary Leeman, and number 32 Daniel Marois. Tom Fergus, from Gary Leeman, and Daniel Marois. Tiiiiiiiime 18:50"
as silly as it sounds - i had goosebumps writing all of that.
GO LEAFS GO NOW AND FOREVER.
I think against every O6 team. They still play his recording of the ‘last minute to play….’ at the SBA every once in awhile
