RIP Ginger Papa

I remember one of the first times I saw his posts, his wall of Gifs and memes bricked my phone so bad I had to block him for a bit just so the thread would load properly.

I totally forgot until one day I realized it after seeing all these posters interacting with him (and also not being able to find his GDTs) and I remembered.

From that point on I loved his enthusiasm and passion for the sport. He was always positive even when most of this forum was anything but.

I'll miss seeing every post on a page in the GDT liked by GP.

RIP

Ginger Papa was such a beauty. We exchanged several DMs over the years along with numerous exchanges in threads. There is no doubt that he was a kind hearted and caring person in real life as well.

One of my favourite posters all time.

His Kermit the Frog straight into my veins gif cracked me up every time.

I’m going to like every single post in this thread in his honour.

RIP buddy.

Jets fan in peace here.

Like many of you I just adored Ginger Papa.

He came on our board game in game out. He always said the Jets were his second favourite team.

Him and I thought had a very close poster relationship. He always was quick to like my posts and boy we shared so many laughs over the seasons.

Just a genuine hockey lover and person!

This is extremely sad news to me.

RIP Ginger Papa, I miss you on here.

Jets fan here, he was a consistent and respected poster on our boards. He DM’d me when I lost my father and sent the most heart felt condolences. He will be truly missed.

I wish I could send you the care emoji here.

That kind of loss changes a person. I'm glad he was there to support you. f***, the more I hear about what GP did for everyone, myself included, the more I want to be the guy.

Ain't that the kind of life that's worth living?

Ok.

Seems like we all agree that everyone who crossed paths with him was better off for it.

Is there anything as a community we could do for his family?

Donation? Something?

Im sure they would appreciate knowing we were so positively affected that we wanted to remember him like that?

I would do a lot to support this cause if we could make it happen.

Like, $10 for every Canucks W kind of support. From now to the end of our season. GP was a great man, I suggest we donate to CFKF or something. I *feel* like that's what he would have wanted, but I didn't really know the man and if he had kids, even.

Like, what was he 54? I have parents much older than that. My in-laws were born at the same time. It just guts me to know there could be kids out there without a parent that young. It's a horrible thing.

HE WAS THE ONLY NON-CANES POSTER TO START A GDT IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS.

AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND, EPITOME OF KINDNESS, EMPATHY, ENTHUSIASM AND GOOD WILL.

REST IN PEACE ROY. F26 SALUTES YOU.

ONCE THIS SITE WORKS - @hangman005 WALLS OF GIFS ARE MANDATORY

@tarheelhockey @DaveG @Unsustainable @Surrounded By Ahos @3CanesInTheBox
@Derailed75 @HisIceness
I managed to do it without the site working :laugh: and better yet all the gifs I used, where taken from Ginger Papa's posts. I don't know of anyone to make as many GDT across as many different teams as he did... seems only fitting to make the only memorial GDT on the mains for him... so that's what I did.

I dont know how to do this or how to get in to contact with his folks but would be willing to chip in what little I can money wise.
