RIP Ginger Papa

A Jets fan here

My condolences to GInger's family and loved ones and to his homebase HF Canucks forum. He helped me with my GDTs from time to time and nothing but positivity from the man .... loved his Canucks and I loved the camaraderie that he brought to our boards and everyone else's

thanks Ginger for everything

I've read almost all of this thread. Does anyone know of a way to contact his family. If anyone here is doing something towards letting them know how much he was appreciated here, I'll gladly chip in.
I don't know if @SeawaterOnIce has looked into it

And I am not sure how to proceed, although there are several points of contact

whenever this has happened in the past, I have been able to meet the family in person (at memorial service)

Also...I've said it a few times. We cannot fully confirm his passing and that's a usual challenge when people (rightfully) like to maintain their anonymity on forums.

I like to believe we're all wrong and Ginger Papa will post an undertaker gif in a week ala Grub.

RIP, GingerPapa... My condolences.

Would come around to the NJD forum and get a few honorary, decked out, GDTs a year for us, over the last many seasons. Loved the positivity and creative humor. Was always up for a good chat on our forum.

Now that it was mentioned, I realized he hadn't been on our board in awhile.

:(

But he's also so nice, that he might play along so no one feels foolish... well I could almost see him doing that

Rest in peace, Ginger Papa, we’ll miss you. I can’t imagine what his family is going through, that’s way too young. Such sad news.

Ginger Papa was the closest thing we had to an official HF mascot and pre-game energy booster. It seemed like he was a fan of certain players instead of teams, but I guess that’s mostly reading between the lines so who knows, but man, he loved the game.

RIP Ginger Papa😢
The Goat of GDT's and gifs, such a positive ray of sunshine.
Had many fun interactions with him, and he was very kind to me when I needed it.

Condolences to his children, family, and friends.
Wherever you are, I hope you're banging these one's out with your parents

See you on the other side brother.

Heard / learned today. Started lurking during the '04-'05 lockout to get my hockey fix, joined HFBoards when the lockout ended. Although he'd "drop in" the Sabres (my native-born franchise) boards, I first truly appreciated Ginger Papa from the Canes boards when I joined those unique and merry souls for Carolina's 2019 playoff resurgence (I live in that state). Always a good spirit, keen wit, positive person, and board unifier.

Although it was uttered by US President Abraham Lincoln in his second inaugural address as a plea to the citizens to heal the harsh societal wounds of the American Civil War, his phrase "with malice toward none, with charity for all" similarly embodied GPs approach and outlook to the far more trivial realm of hockey fandom.

Can a mod post the stats on GP? When he joined, # of posts and # of likes. He must be near the top of of the mountain.

I still don't understand the like system and I refuse to learn. Good posts get engagement, thats about what I understand. So kudos to him. God damn, they must have broke the mould with him.
