I want to share a personal story about Joe

Just before Christmas last year I caught a nasty strain of a rhinovirus that put me into Mass General Hospital for 8 days. The day after the Bills beat the Patriots a nurse comes into my room with a Wegmans shopping bag and said your food arrived and I am dumbfounded as I hadn't ordered anything.

The bag contained a meatloaf dinner and a Beef on Kimmelweck sandwich with a note saying Wegmans uses Charlie the Butcher - this should be better than hospital food. - Buff

He took a liking to me as he knew I was familiar with WNY even though I was from Boston.

As happy as that makes me…now I just want beef on weck!

But gosh. Just sucks

My plan for Friday is to have Wegmans deliver me a couple of sandwiches. :cry:

Buff put me in charge of HF Sportsbook a few years back and occasionally would bet on the Bills or Sabres. Last March he went all in when the Sabres played in Toronto.

He broke the bank :biglaugh:

Condolences to Joe's family, friends, and the members of this community. His dedication and hard work, done with the utmost humility, have helped make HF Boards an important part of thousands of people's lives for many years. He was a pillar and will never be forgotten. RIP.

I noticed the change to the site logo and had to look around to confirm what I feared that he had passed and they changed the logo like when Fugu post. RIP

Perhaps the board that shall not be named, hidden inside the volcano? (The mod board for those who aren't old enough to remember the moment it was visible or know that it was called that for a time.)

Or given the anecdote, the betting page?

I wish he'd have extended that as far as the likes of 'Tim Connelly' & 'Brian Cambell' as well. Used to drive me nuts.

Yeah, I was thinking of it as a nod but it's the team's time to correct things now.
