I only wish I had appreciated now what I didn't then when I saw him in his twilight. The older Leaf fans admired him so much, similar to how my generation viewed Wendel and my friends and I couldn't understand why since we all missed him in his prime (though he still was fearless in blocking slapshots).
As I am older and more educated about the game and its history, I fully understand why he had such an impact. If Leafs today could have a player who gave only half of what he gave, the courage that oozed from him.
