Not having markstrom is going to hurt us, we are still behind the canes by a point thanks to being so bad over the last 11 games, they at least got a win.

I didn't think we were going to either but we have 5.6 in TDL space currently and I saw that we could have 7 come TDL time. That should give you enough to get 2 guys with retention. Fitz ever gets his head out of his ass you have 1.15 that you could send down. Another 3+ mil between Tatar and Bastian they could dump if they want. I don't think the cap space is the issue I thought it'd be. They're fine there. If anything holds them back it'd probably be lacking a 1st but they do have 3 2nds.

You could send them out though. If you add a 2 guys then neither of those guys are in a healthy lineup. Like yeah sure the injury depth replacements are still rough but you'd be upgrading on Tatar/Bastian in the healthy lineup so you take that tradeoff if they need to go to bring in other guys.

The Timo/Nico/Mercer thing is so bizarre. Nico-Mercer works well. Timo-Mercer works well. Timo-Nico works incredibly well. Timo-Nico-Mercer underwhelms.

There is no way that the Devils have 7 at the TDL, come on. Why do we persist with these fantasies? If Markstrom is out for any length of time, that means Daws or Poulter called up.

I don't think Nelson's a 3C. If you get Nelson I think he's a top 6 finishing wing and helps takes draws for Jack. Also don't think Timo-Nico-Mercer is all that good. That line is way too volatile and has far too many stinkers. They're better with Noesen. I'd like to see what Palat looks like away from Jack-Bratt to get an idea of if you could throw him back down on the 3rd line. I don't love the look Palat-Jack-Nelson but it could definitely work and then it opens you up for a Bratt-Gourde-Mercer 3rd line.
