Also Nico probably deserves it over Zajac but whatevs lol
He doesn’t at this point. When his career is over sure, but not now. Zajac played here forever and was a big part of the post cup teams and the 2012 run (in the playoffs, I know he missed most of that season).
 
Shame Kovy's tenure was only 2 years, he's probably the most skilled Devils forward besides Jack
Not while he was here .. that's for sure.. and if we are going to look at players did before they got here Peter Stastny was pretty freaking spectacular.

So was Gilmore and I wouldn't short change Elias. Elias is still the best forward that ever played in New Jersey in my opinion
 
Kovalchuk was fun, but one year was great, one was a total disaster and the other two were incomplete.

Jack is on there for the 99 point season, but there is no one else to out on and that is a team record.
Kovalchuks 2012 year was better than anything Hughes has done

Hockey is at much higher scoring rates now, and that’s beyond how much better of a 2 way player Kovy was than Hughes.
